well got mine before for same price.... better to get it asap before they take it off again like last time...

Very good control I am quite happy with it... no problems what so ever... except build quality is not good as it should be but what can you expect item that are Made in China (not all but most of them)...

Its better to buy this one than 555.
#2
I ordered the 555 from Amazon afew days ago for £53. Was looking at this one but got the 555 instead maybe I should have waited afew days now! :)

Hot!

I'm sure its a good deal but £70 is a shocking amount to pay for a remote control.
#4
I've got 7 remotes on my coffee table, so £70 seems reasonable!

Do these operate Sky boxes?
#5
bought one of these when it was last on here................... absolute best buy of the year for me, only one remote on the table now!!!!

Easyish to set up, works faultless, brilliant!!!!!!!

HOT HOT HOT!!!!!

At 70 quid for a remote control, I would expect excellent build quality!

Check your local Comet, the 688 was available (instore only) for £15 recently
#10
For anyone who already owns this really, is this really big in size?

I know that in comparison to 3 remotes on the table it wouldn't be but if it is too big I will leave it.

Heat added for your trouble
#11
These are great remotes, I have the 885 - expensive but recommended
#12
will this work with the PS3?
#13
I own the 555 which is much the same as this but can hold fewer devices. I agree build quality is not superb but then many of the remotes that come with my devices are rubbish in comparison. I have mine set up for my tv, dvd, toppy, xbox, 360 and ps2 along with some commands for other IR devices which I learnt from the original remote and it's spot on.

Activities are brilliant, mines set up to press one button and it switches the tv on, the toppy on and switches my lamp on. Genius!

The software for programming them is a doddle and has most devices you could ever wish for in the database.

I say, buy it! Voted hot.

will this work with the PS3?

No, as the PS3'sremote is Blutooth.......which, though functionally is great, it's a real pain in the ass if you want to use a 1-4-all.

Does anyone know if this can replace my Windows (Vista) Media Center remote?
#16
Great deal, I've been after one a while too. Also ebuyer have the harmony one remote for £99.99 which seems a bargain to me. I've bought one of each (one's a pressie)

Yes it can...definitely.

I would have expected you could get the 880 for this price tho', not knocking the deal but would suggest a trip to ebay usa before you buy.

Does anyone know if the 785 works with xbox 360?

Also, £10 cheaper here... http://buytech.co.uk/product.php?productid=117487 with next day delivery :-)
#19

Works flawlessly on Xbox360 - or any other infra-red gadget I have found. It will turn your xbox360 on and off - every control you could want - there is already a template for the 360(as you would expect) so you just download it from Logitech and add it as a device(in laymans terms, you'll see how cool it works if you got one)

I have an 880 which works exactly the same(just slightly more ergonomic IMHO) and it is one of those gadgets that I have never for one second regretted buying. It's in my Star buy category.

The 880 charges fully, using a nokia battery (included) in about an hour and lasts for well over a month - it lasts that long that I am surprised every time it beeps to say it will need charging soon, it's that rare a thing to do!

I would say that if you wanted an all-in-one remote and want something tactile then these are at the top of the pile ;)
If you envisage wanting to control something uses RF as well then go for one of the more expensive models like the 890 and try to get it from the US.

sweet, thanks a lot :-)

nice one...

I've had a 525 for some time now and no complaints at all. Had other all in ones and they were mostly c**p. Least this one works and is easy to operate.
Mine say Made in Japan , no complaints on build quality at all.

Thanks for you help.

It will work with any matching kit on the logitech site - if your model isn't there then you can program the 785 from your existing Sony remote via the learning function.

working fine with my Sony 910 receiver

Fantastic devices the Logitech remotes. They will control everything and anything...I even have on in the living room thats been set up to control the lighting hehe. Expensive for a remote yeah, but if you have lots of devices or into your whole home entertainment set up etc then I'd defo recommend one!!! Great deal.
#34
Cold from me.. even with that reduction.. it's still grossly overpriced for what it does!
#35
You guys have lights with remote controls ;)? That must be the pinnacle of lazyness!
#36
I got the 525 two years ago for £36....... perhaps a cheaper alternative if you think this is too pricey.

I could not disagree more. My main set up has 9 devices each requiring a different remote. Switching the whole system on would therefore take some time, and finding the right remote to quickly change something would be a right hassle! Its a small price to pay for the incredible convienience!
#38
It is a small price to pay not just for convenience, but also for it's ease of use - once programmed, a simple button push will start whichever activity you like, and if something does go wrong there's a help button with easy-to-follow instructions. This means no more calls from baffled partners trying to play a dvd :)

Does the "one" have four colour buttons? Pictures I have seen do not show that it has but maybe it's a case of the only pics that have been published are of the US version, if it's like what happened with the 885?
#40
From what I've heard, the "one" doesn't have the colour buttons even on the Europe model, so you have to map them to the screen.
