As per the title.

Let me know if you've found better. Over on AVforums someone found one of these on the high street at a BT store for £69, but I can't find a list of stores. Same price at BT shop online (same company I think), slightly more quidco but not free delivery.

Normally retail at about £130.

Cheers

If you're going to vote cold, at least post to say why, especially if its cheaper elsewhere.

Probably as simple as the fact that it is a remote control and it is £100.
£100 or £130, it's still way too expensive.

Voted cold, you can get the new Harmony One direct from logitech for £106 delivered using the 20% off voucher code: "JELLYBATTLE2A"

Yeah I looked at that one, but I want the hard colour buttons - othewise I would got for it.

Can we not get into the debate as to whether 100 quid is too much to spend on a remote. Please.

Interesting thought process, the 785 lists at £10 more than the One and this deal is for £9 less than the discounted One.

The fact the bigger bargain has hard buttons for the colors as well makes this far hotter!

You asked why cold and I merely answered. I have no opinion on it really, to each thair own :)
Not for me, but you can't really put a price on a gadget I suppose.

The Harmony one may not have coloured buttons, but it has a touch screen, and it won the CES innovation award this year for its design. This will replace the 785, hence companies selling them cheaply.

But I still vote cold even if I use your thinking as the 885 is £30 more expensive than the 785 on logitech's site but can be had for the same price from amazon and a couple of quid cheaper from pixmania.

So still cold I'm afraid.

I dont think people should vote cold just because XXX is too much to pay for a YYY - people should look at how much that particular model would cost.
A new Ferrari for 30 grand would be a bargain even though it costs way more than the average car.
Dave.
#13
yeah but why would you buy a ferrari, when a bugatti vereon is the same price, the 885 from pixmania is a better remote, higher spec, has the 4 colour buttons (even if the piccy doesn't show them). Its therefore COLD as the higher spec version is a few quid more.

I was referring to the poster who said it was cold because 100 quid was too much for a remote.

Two problems:

1- It's from Pixmania, 'nough said :-(

2- I am not so sure that the 885 is a better remote than the 785. I think it's pretty much six versus half a dozen. The 885 is an older design. The button layout is very different and some peoples might prefer one over the other. Some peoples find the 885 style buttons hard to touch type. Also a lot of 885 have issues with not sitting properly in their cradle and the batteries running flat because of it. IIRC, the biggest advantage of the 885 is that it has 8 LCD soft buttons vs 6 for the 785. (The maximum number of device controllable is very unlikely to ever be reached) Apart from that, both remotes will do pretty much the same thing.

Amazon has the 525 version for £43 delivered. Less hard buttons, only 4 LCD soft buttons and B/W LCD rather than colour but it will also essentially do that same things as the more expensive models.

Might be worth double checking that the UK/EU version of the Harmony One really doesn't have the colour buttons. Most other Harmony remotes have a US version without colours buttons and a UK/EU version that has it.

You can get it from amazon (not marketplace) for £99.00.

I have the 885, and I have just bought the Harmony One as it appears to have a much better button layout. The coloured buttons are on the screen.

Have checked, with Logitech direct. It doesn't have them; there aren't the usual two versions.

Half way up on the the curved buttons. If you find a picture of the UK spec one you'll see them. They are labelled witht the colour rather than the whole button being the colour like the 785 (which I prefer).

Logitech's site with prices in sterling has three pics but I can't make out any keys with colours on them.
If they can give you coloured buttons on the 785 and me the same on the 525, they're perverse not to do the same on more expensive versions!
