Not really, mine's sitting just on my desk with no mouse mat. Never used one with this and still great on FPS's such as MW2;-)

Anyone know if the improvements of the new Performance Mouse MX are worth it?
I have been after a Logitech mouse, but I'm willing to wait for the new ones to start popping up on sales if the new receiver, tracking technology etc. are good improvements. This looks like an awesome mouse, but it's going on 4 years old, which is ages in computer time.
#7
well Ive got mine on a A3 glide mat and it just enhances the experience
#8
For gaming I would still use a wired mouse, but this is a stonking hot deal.

Not for the quality you're getting. If you're a serious FPS player this is a steal at 40 quid.
#13
got mine for £50 a few months back. worth every penny!
#14
Had mine for about 3+ years, it's the best mouse I have ever had, I use it on my desk without a mat and it is very accurate, so no real need for a mat.

This is a very good price easily worth £50+ of anyones money.

Just incase it has not been mentioned this is rechargable, it has a rechargable battery inside it similar to a mobile phone, I charge mine just once a week and it lasts more than enough, comes with a cradle for the mouse to sit in for charging and for when not in use. You have 4 green led lights on the mouse letting you know how much charge is left in it, so you know when it goes from green to red that it is time to give it a charge, only takes a couple of hours to get a full charge as well.

What is with everyone on this site?!? Cold because you're left handed or cold because it's more than you're willing to pay? It's pathetic!

This is a great mouse at the cheapest you're likely to find it anywhere; from a quick google, I can't see it for less than £50. If you find it for less, by all means provide everyone else with the link and vote cold. Otherwise, I beg you to please just take a moment to think about whether you're actually hindering the usefulness of the site as opposed to helping everyone (as per the objectives of HUKD).

Sorry for the rant…thanks to Shanks for the deal ;)

I think your sarcasm detector is broken

I actually prefers VX revolution because it's smaller.

The frictionless scroll wheel is about the best feature ever on these mice, just try not to get too much dirt sticking on it, otherwise friction picks up.

for gamers it is hot but for most pc users, they can just get a mouse worth a fiver and it will do the same job.
even if your a gamer, its possible to play with a mouse worth a fiver and play just as well.

i didnt vote btw.
#19
ill stick with my Razer Lachesis =)

If you're playing online as a sniper.. .you'll need a mouse where you can alter it's dpi on the go... that's if you're aiming for head shots.

Just re-read properly…I should get that fixed ;) Apologies!
#22
It is an 800dpi mouse i believe which is not really a gaming mouse, more of a general all rounder. Looks like a good price though, as for whether you can play just as well with a five quid mouse or 30 quid mouse then that depends on the gamer. Most people will have a level of skill and you should choose peripherals that suit it, I'm a pretty decent player but a £100 mouse such as the Razer Mamba would be a waste on me as well as an expensive outlay.

But I noticed a big difference in my performance going from a Trust brand optical mouse (cheap tat) to a decent razer mouse (30 quid razer diamondback) and I would probably spend about £30 if I change this one.

thats theory, in reality, millions of people get headshots without being technical about it.

As a non-gamer I will say I would never go back to a cheap mouse again.

My parents have bought cheaper mice and they are just garbage in comparison. Batteries don't last anywhere near as long (weeks not months) they have poor weight and don't glide as nicely.

This is a very nice price

Had two of these, first got stolen, paid £70-80 each. They aren't great for FPS gaming, WoW players may find it useful. For every day use I can't fault the thing, I find myself trying to press non existant buttons when i use other people computers

This price is definitely hot.
#26
i'm looking for a new mouse, is this one good? i'm not looking fo rthe best but a good mid price range gaming mouse
#27
Lol, I still use this from time to time, played through Fallout 3 with it :-D

MX series, say hello to your ancestor, the 2001 Cordless Mouseman Optical™ with FOUR buttons, and auto sleep mode, nifty...

Mine is not quite as pristine as this pic, but I haven't managed to break it yet, the thumb button's good for crouching.
#28
great mouse, best i've ever had.
I bought 4 of these just over a year ago when they were half price at PC world for around £35.
but still a good price at £39.99
#29
I love this mouse - bought mine 2 years ago and still going strong.

I dont like it for gaming, must admit - wired mouse all the way. But for general use, its great.
#30
This is a very good mouse and worth the money. I have it's predecessor the mx-1000 and it's lasted 5 years and is still going strong. Even after i left my window open and it got rained on for a week. Dried it out and away it went. Yes you can buy a £5 mouse which will do the same job but you'll be lucky if it lasts more than about 12 months, it probably won't have extra function buttons and it will probably feel wrong. I used to always buy cheap mice but since i've had a decent one i would never go back.
#31
Checked prices on Internet and this price is good. Voted "Hot" and purchased.
#32
This is fantastic. I've had mine for a while now and it has fantastic wireless range. I've programmed my buttons for media use, The thumb scroll for volume and mute, the back and forward buttons to next/previous track and the search button for pause/play. I'm at uni at the moment and it allows me to control my laptop anywhere in my flat so I can change music track whilst cooking in the kitchen. The battery lasts an absolute age and only takes abut an hour to charge when it does die.

I realise this may be a bit of overkill for the capabilities of this mouse but it has never let me down.
#33
Cold for me low DPI this one way better:

It might not be wireless but one hell of a unit for MW2
#34
Got this mouse. It's brilliant for everything from first person shooters to macros in photoshop and excel. So I got a smaller version for my lap top and another one for work. It's really that good. Spend some time setting it up.

Tip for anyone who has one or is planning on getting one.

and get in to the habit of returning it to its cradle to charge when you are done with it for the day.

Hot deal

Best mouse ever, have 2 at home and 1 at work, and I'm not a gamer,
The abundance of buttons/comfort of using/accuracy/ very long battery life all makes this mouse well worth the money.
Not to mention that logitech warranty and customer support is the best i've ever dealt with in the world!

superb mouse....one of the best wireless mouse on the market....even not bad for games too...best mouse ive used....its the design, the neat thumb rest, not having to change batteries every 5 mins, responsiveness for a wireless is superb
