Good price for a great mouse
I've owned one for a while now.

Good post :D
#2
Thanks yeah i bought one 2 days ago when it was £22 and typically my luck it drops!
#3
Posted a few times before, and always gets heat. It's a great mouse, and mine's still going years after I bought it.
#4
Good old MX518 :{
Still going well since I got for about £50 when it first came out.

Me too, damn it!

This is a great mouse, highly recommended!

Looks pretty good.. I've never gone beyond "budget" mice before though... is it worth it for just some occasional gaming?
#7
I have been using this mouse for over a year now and it's never skipped a beat. Hot from me! 8)
#8
Great spot, my razor is carrying too many battlefield scars and needs putting down
#9
For anyone doubting - this is basically one of the best mice ever made. I've had one for 5 years still works fine - and have one sitting spare if it does ever break. I'd pick this one up as its a great opportunity to get a good mouse for not much money.
I would also highly recommend getting a good cloth mouse mat. As it really does make a big difference with the tracking etc.
#10
Best mouse ever if slightly big.
#11
MX518 1600dpi was the best, but you can't go wrong with this!
#12
Great price, my only criticism of the MX518 is the ridge on the right of the mouse, it tends to rub on my ring finger and gets a bit sore.

Actually unplugged it yesterday to try out the Gigabyte M6900 which goes up to 3200dpi and has three programmable dpi settings that are held on the mouse. I've not formed an opinion yet as I've only been using it for a day, but it doesn't have the ridge that rubs my finger and is only £15, we'll see.

Anyway, good price for an excellent quality mouse.

Difference between the old one and the later 1800dpi is the feet are pads similar to the G500.

I switched over to the 1800dpi from the 1600dpi because the feet were starting to drag causing a scratching feeling. Did last me many many many hours of use and is now being used on a second pc with a soft mat mouse pad.

I wish Amazon had lowered the price last week because I went and bought a different mouse for a tenner, although it had mixed reviews compared to the largely positive reviews I've seen for this mouse.

Ah well. Maybe next time.

New one doesn't look as cool though (stolen pic via google)

Yes. I bought one last time it was this price, on a whim, since i'd got a bigger resolution monitor, my only standard ms mouse optical felt slow. I'd reccomend it. although like hunter0405 i may end up with an mmo mouse, with twelvety five billion buttons on it at some point.

Great mouse well worth the cash.. Heat

I had the 510 (still got 2 of those), brill mice, very well made.

Had the g5 years ago (upgrade of the 518), wasn't overly keen so sold that.

Good price, but the 518 is an old mouse now.
#19
Great mouse thanks.
#20
Awesome mouse!
#21
Everyone loves the MX518, including me. :)

They are normally around £25 but routinely get sold at this lower price by Amazon and Play. Deffo worth jumping on it at these times.
#22
Awesome. Thanks OP. I posted this a couple of days ago but got no reply.

This mouse was the alternative I had in mind and it was £22. At this price, just ordered.

This mouse or the HP Voodoo gaming mouse at £30 @ Amazon?

Anyone know about these things?
#24
this mouse!!

Excellent mouse. Even if you only play games occasionally you will find all the extra buttons are useful in so many more applications that they just become second nature to use. If you have only been using a basic mouse then the higher dpi settings can feel twitchy at first, but increase it gradually with the Logitech SetPoint software it comes with and you will get used to it quickly.

The fact that this mouse is still selling well, some 5 or 6 years after it launched is testament to how good it is and the level of praise it has from almost everywhere.

As another bonus Logitech customer support has been absolutely excellent when I've had to use them, so I am very happy to keep buying their products and recommending them to others.

I would choose the MX518 even if the HP one was £17.99 as well. Easy choice IMO.

The scroll wheel is completely shot on mine, worse than not working it makes things scroll wildly everywhere. Even if I held no contempt for this model I'm not sure if I can stomach buying a second one exactly the same. It's always the scrollwheel that goes, also got a Razer Diamondback that this scroll whell has gone on. Rest of it is perfect.
#28
good find been looking for a good mouse for ages - purchased with the steelseries qck mini gaming mouse mat
#29
Standard price for this mouse. However it is such excellent value I had to vote hot. :D

Agreed, excellent support. In the very unlikely event you will need it.

You must have one awesomely brutal index finger.
#32
anyone looking for something slightly newer with higher dpi should take a look at the steelseries xai, for 33gbp at amazon including the game RUSE.

Just what I was thinking......

Best wired mouse ever IMHO - and I already have a newly purchased spare for when the current one might give up the ghost - though I doubt it.

Excellent build quality and feel plus very comfortable if you have largish hands like myself :)

This mouse is fantastic. Got it for this price some time ago and has worked fantastically ever since
#37
Tempted to get this mouse, though a couple of doubts:

I hear it doesn't this fare with those of larger hands, and it doesn't have vertical as well as horizontal scroll. Though the first point is important to me, am I being pedantic about the second point and expecting too much?
