Not sure about built in microphone mate but it says includes headset so maybe the microphone is built into that ?

Just to let you know I cannot find the E1000 listed on the logitech website, which is strange.
Does this mean no support?

This is what I've noticed. I saw it in my local WH Smiths 2 weeks ago and looked it up as it looked cheap and decent. No mentions of it anywhere other than WH Smith and eBay, even on Logitech.

I think this is probably a licensed out product eg. it's not actually made by Logitech, but by another manufacterer.

I have one and they are very good for the price. I paid about £15 from pc world and thought that was good. Cant help with the mic though cause i do not know. Has some funny effects though which you can make a bee fly around your head! Very usefull! Ha ha.

It looks decent for the price. I paid 16 pounds for 2 from a shopping channel. They were ok, but what did I expect for the price.

Anyway, heat added :-) xx

nice one mate, heat added, missed this the other day, popped into local smiths, and none there, so glad to get a second shot today, and also my sketch things from smiths arrived today at like £3.90 each!!! bargains for xmas

May be a good price for this specific cam, but I bought a 2megpixel from ebuyer (generic make) for about 4 quid! Very decent camera, use it everyday!

does anyone know if this is compatable with sh* tsta?

Just ordered one for my daughters laptop. Anyone know if this will fit onto a laptop.

Oh, and she has Vista so I hope it works with that too!

Using it now on my laptop. Very good camera. Separate headphones with in-built mic (like old hands free for your mobile phone). Works with Vista according to the cd supplied (I have XP)

Can't go wrong for the money. Interestingly can't register the warranty with Logitech as it doesn't appear in their drop down list of products!

Brought one myself the other day, works nicely with Vista x64. Even though its not listed on the Logitech website I read somewhere it is but under a different name, not sure which one though.

Cheers for that, I was just looking at the pics and considering cancelling. Does the serial number on the camera itself give anything away about the 'original' model?

Great find. Just ordered 1. Will order another if turns out to be decent quality.

Heat & Rep added

They listed the Quickcam chat then changed the product on the site to the E1000 after they ran out of stock.
They replaced the cam i ordered with the e1000 after my order was sent and then tried to deny it ever being on the site.
After alot of emails they finally sent me £5 off any order (woooh) which i have now used....my order will take 4weeks+ for some photo paper... which i think they will cock up the order again no doubt..
Cheap price but awful ordering process, they cant seem to sent the products they list.

Don't waste your time ordering from sh*t company as WHSmith, you will get a confirmation email then it one or two days later you'll get an email saying your order has been cancelled. They bunch of cowboys.:x:x

At that price I'm tempted to buy another webcam, so I can film the front and back of my head at the same time

Ordered yesterday lunchtime. Was with me first thing this morning!!! Super fast delivery.

Haven't checked it out yet. Will report back when I do.

EDIT: Just fired it up a bit ago. Was initially disappointed with the quality as I tried in my which has little sunlight.

Moved to the lounge and the quality blew me away. Once you manually focus the camera, the quality is outstanding for the price.
Very responsive. works well with Skype.

Only problem is that the box states there should be a headset included, but mine is missing.
Just sent an email to WH Smith support. Hope I manage to get a replacement.

Could someone post a few pictures ( you can upload them to http://www.imagehost.org/ which is free) from their webcam, in different light (backlight front light, direct sunshine, night time etc) so we can see the quality.
Thanks in advance.
