I was looking for a decent keyboard and mouse combo.

Nothing expensive, but nothing pathetically cheap either. But something that looks good. This keyboard took my liking because it looked good and apparently it has a 5 year gurantee.

I was going to buy this from Ebuyer who had it at £30 - now gone up to £38! Play.com have this at £35.

So at this price, it's £18 cheaper than anywhere else! Brillitant price for a quality keyboard and mouse combo at £16.99!

I paid £20 for this keyboard and mouse bundle on Friday, but now Comet have 15% off every keyboard using code 15KEY, so and EVEN better deal!!!!!

Also £20 in John Lewis. http://www.johnlewis.com/230511748/Product.aspx?source=35735 (oh, wait, out of stock, no wonder)

Cheapest price in the states (as I was looking around) is $49, so we're getting a bargain.

However some faults from the reviews I read:

1) The wrist rest isn't detachable. so it takes up a large amount of desk space (hard to make space for a plate of food if you eat at your computer like me).

2) The mouse apparently looks cheap.

3) One review mentioned key repeating issues.

1) Wrist rest is OK, as even with the Saitek eclipse I had before I never too the wrist rest off.

2) The mouse is basic, but it's laser and feels heavy and solidly built, and comfortable to use.

3) Seems OK so far - thats what the 5 year gurantee is for!

My only gripe is the mouse wheel button is a little 'hard click' rather than the softer mouse button click.

Other than that an absolute bargain! Less that half the price at play.com

I can't say it'd be my keyboard of choice, but it looks like a decent price if you're just after something basic and wireless.
#6
Thank you OP just what I need, and even better because I have a £15 Comet gift card so will only cost me £1.99 :-D

Yes, there's no doubt this is an excellent price.

I'm resisting just because I have a habit of buying keyboards. Last year is was for "cute mini-keyboards", which are now lying around attached to my Wii and in drawers. I do buy some crap sometimes...

Also I don't need it! *keeps repeating to himself, you bought that keyboard with the purple LEDs because it had purple LEDs, even though the page up/down keys are in a non-standard place you can never remember*

Exactly why I couldn't put up with it, so thanks for posting that & the other points . Would've definitely posed the middle-click question.

they're fairly easy to soften up. i took one apart at work and released a bit of the pressure on the wheel and the click was really fine, you almost couldnt feel it. took about two minutes. its just a little bit of shaped metal that i pushed about a bit, only two or three small bolts to get into the mouse.

when you say the keyboard rest isnt detachable, is it moulded into the keyboard case or could you take the cover off the keyboard and manipulate it off?

Are you sure????? Was it this exact same mouse?

The back cover is all moulded into on, and has screws on it. The front is not, its seperate from the keys and the rest of the keyboard material hence it's a different colour.

SO if you wanted to remove it you couldn't, even with fiddling unless you were to cut the plastic on the backside.

what is the range like?

Is it just me but I can't seem to see where it says that it is a laser mouse - just says wireless in the webpage

I've got one - says laser on the bottom.

Also the specs on the comet webpage are wrong. The specs on the ebuyer website are correct:

Good deal, the code also makes the Logitech Wave desktop £42.50 which is a great price, seems to be £60 elsewhere.

Seems OK, I use it for gaming, takes a little getting used to from my Saitek eclipse (which was badly built!), but it's OK.

I took it to the far end of my room (attic), and it was still working fine. I couldn't type because I couldn't see the screen from that far away.

So at least 3m I would say but probably more.

Got the predecesor to this - S510
Ok keyboard but two gripes:
1) It has the Home/End keys arranged in a different form from the bog standard k'board so more
difficult to do shortcuts with keystrokes. I use a standard k'board at work and have got used to that. Why do they have to change something as basic as a keyboard?
2) The writing on quite a few characters on the keyboard has worn off after only a a couple of years. In touch with Logitech on this and hopefully they will replace it. Just warning pple.

Would I buy it again - No. Not even at this cheapo price.

back up to £49.99 now, so expired.
