Thanks OP

Was about to order the SB Radio from John Lewis for £110 so this is a bargain especially since quidco has tracked too - cheers

Great bit of kit - and more flexible with one of the very cheap apps for your Iphone/touch or Android device

These are BRILLIANT!

I am pretty sure there is no battery for this, thus not as portable as I would like....(although I am willing to be corrected).

Would be handy for music in bathroom...if battery?

No, it's not got a battery. It's a fantastic bit of kit, though.

I'm surprised they don't sell a prepackaged Squeeze Server though. It's alright for geeks like me with a server at home already, but I know they'd sell more to normal folk if the server was sold in a box!

I would really like something I can play music through but need something that's also got an alarm function so it plays something to wake me up! Obviously, PC is normally switched off at that time. Does this have an alarm function maybe using internet radio?
#9
Is this the one that picks up internet radio, or do you need another piece of kit for that?
#10
This does have an alarm function, I use it as my alarm clock :)
#11
Yeah, it has excellent alarm features.

I don't have any experience with these, however the reviews i've seen appear to say the sound quality is adequate for a device of this size, however this is alway subjective... i'm pretty tempted myself as it's only required for the kitchen, was going to get a DAB radio, but this will do the job instead ... plus a lot more...

Ordered and quidco tracked. Same price on Amazon BTW (without the quidco), looks to be a standard price drop.
#18
found out it does work with Spotify... so will be getting one of these....

I have a joggler in the kitchen which is great for quick touchscreen playback of radio etc, would like this more for entertaining etc..

Quick question, spotify WILL work but through a plugin to the squeezecenter, is this something that is only available on a dedicated server or can it be run through a normal PC setup as a program?

From what i've read, it's using Dbridge streaming which will basically "bridge" Spotify client on you PC / Laptop etc with the Squeeze Centre... so No dedicated server required

Cheers

It says when you add to basket that it's free delivery but when you go through the checkout process it only offers £4.95 delivery?

Have I missed something?

Edit - you have to select the week after for it to be free...

I see they have already started hitting ebay....

After fees and having seen what previous "new" ones sell for it seems a lot of effort for not much gain.

Arrived and installed..

Very impressed to be honest, good sound and once set up is excellent.

Found it will only stream spotify if you have premium membership for £10/month!?

So subscribed to Napster for a free month then £5/month and will see how I get on...

Really ? is that after installing the DSbridge too ?
#28
If that's the name of the plugin, yes.

To be honest, I only have the free spotify with the ads so would have had to have paid £5 to upgrade that to not be interrupted after every song and Napster has found a load of songs I couldn't get on Spotify..
