Enjoy Internet radio in any room in the house with the Logitech Squeezebox Boom.

With its own dedicated webpage, mysqueezebox.com, you can enjoy the thousands of Internet radio stations available without having to switch your computer on. This "always on" radio is available via two connections. Either use the Ethernet connection to connect to your home network hub or take advantage of the built-in wireless interface for complete flexibility of placement (Broadband Internet required).

In addition to receiving a vast selection of Internet radio stations, the Squeezebox Boom can access stored information on your computer. Simply stream it over via Squeezebox Server software. If you've got an iPod or MP3 player you can connect that up, too, thanks to the 3.5mm aux input.

What really makes the Squeezebox Boom the complete package, though, is the excellent quality amp and speakers built-in. A powerful, bi-amped Class D amplifier works with digital crossovers to produce an impressively powerful sound for such a compact unit. The stereo speakers feature separate woofers and tweeters for added clarity. Furthermore, Stereo XL technology widens the sound stage to give a real 'out of the box' feeling to the music. In short, the Squeezebox Boom doesn't just give you access to a massive range of radio stations, it lets you enjoy listening to them in the utmost clarity.

Should you choose to use the Squeezebox Boom as bedroom audio then the alarm with sleep function is an added bonus. The display will even automatically adjust to the lighting conditions. A full remote control is ideal for use in larger rooms while the Boom can also be controlled by the Squeezebox controller system and fully integrated into a complete Squeezebox system.

For Internet radio that will fill any room, try the Squeezebox Boom!

Nice piece of kit, this seems to be the bottom end of the typical price range though rather than particularly hot. AS above John Lewis have it at the same price, even if their maths has gone a bit screwy:-

Bought it last week from Amazon for the same price, and Richer Sounds have had this price for a bit now, however they say that some may be ex display or repair, and that's why I went for Amazon in the end.

I've had mine for about 18 months or so now and although the sound quality is good it is when it works. Over the last few months it seems to now take about a good 30 seconds until a radio station starts and then it constantly drops its connection to it. I blame it on Logitech's server which I think it connects to as it's fine when I stream to it.

Anyone else having similar issues?

i've had one a few weeks now, Initial startup is fine and gets feed in a couple of seconds from power on.
if there is ever a dropped connection i usually find it's down to my bb link as i get web page time outs and instant messenger disconnects, however as i'm on virgin this is not very often at all.
you can input direct URL's into the squeezebox so that it doesn't touch your or Logitechs servers at all, also there is an emulation program you can load onto your PC that can test the links. Good luck....
Anyway... just want to mention that it's back in stock at Richer sounds at 149.00 so anyone who needs one should mark this post hot and pick one up... works great :) plus can use on free spotify.....

Beware before buying one of these....

...my device is still playing up big time to the point that i've just rang Logitech for support. They've given me some trouble shooting steps which i'm going to try and they've also told me that if it breaks down under warranty then they send out a replacement and don't even need the faulty one back...all great. However, if it breaks down outside of the two year warranty they don't offer any sort of repair or swap out service at all in Europe. Your only option is to privately find a skilled electrician that might be able to fix it and all at your own cost and I would imagine there's very little chance of that.

Fortunately for me it's still just under warranty until March but It's a very expensive item and I would say that it's worth bearing in mind the complete lack of out of warranty support for it before buying one. Read around and there's lots of faulty ones and after two years if it goes down it's a very costly brick. I certainly wouldn't have got one if i'd known and more out of principle than anything.
