Price has just been slashed this morning from £219.99 to £149.99 - nearly as cheap as the Classic 3! I have been watching this for a while and glad I waited beyond the £189 mark it hit a while back.

The Squeezebox (aka Slimserver) lineup are a fantastic suite of products with a thriving support community. I love my Booms and am very glad to add this to the lineup.

Product details:
Squeezebox Duet consists of a multi-room Squeezebox Controller & charging stand, and a Squeezebox Receiver. The multi-room controller with 2.4-inch color display makes it easy to browse playlists, albums, artists, and more. Even search by name. Convenient scrollwheel, simple menus, and intuitive buttons make navigation a breeze.Expert engineering and sophisticated audio rendering technology provide sound clarity to please even the most demanding audiophile.Advanced 802.11g wireless technology eliminates the need to string wires everywhere just to listen to the music from your computer. And setting up an additional room is simple as pushing a button - even on secure networks.Access millions of songs, thousands of Internet radio stations, and music service providers such as Pandora, Rhapsody and Slacker, without ever turning on your computer using SqueezeNetwork, the unique Internet service. Even your personal music collection can be stored online in an MP3tunes music locker and played through your Squeezebox.Connect the Squeezebox Receiver to your stereo or powered speakers and create a musical oasis. Add additional Squeezebox Receivers and listen to a different song in each room, or synchronize them and hear the same music everywhere.

Can still be ordered from Amazon for the price, you just may need to wait a short while. ;-)

awesome price!!! if only I needed it at the moment.
#5
Why expired? It is still available to order for the above price.
#6
I think someone has expired it as the default buying options isn't the amazon but advancedmp3players with a price of £263

3-5 weeks for Amazon now.

Is this an imminent price drop from Logitech or just Amazon going a bit mental? I just want to know whether I need to snap it up now or if I can wait a few months, since I was planning on getting one as part of a new hifi setup later in the year anyway. Excellent price, whatever the case!

There has been rumoour of a touch screen model for a couple of months now but nothing official has been announced. The remote that comes with this deal sells for £150 alone (£180 on Amazon, go figure!) so even if a new model is announced you are unlikely to lose huge amounts on this one should you sell it second hand, somewhere.

Ah, I didn't know that! I've googled around and if the photos are anything like genuine, I think I'd prefer the Duet! As such I shall treat myself to a bit of hifi kit early ;)

It ships in 3-5 weeks; will they take the money then or now?

They'll take payment when they process (payment->package->ship) the order I believe.

I am sure it won't be 3-5 weeks, I've ordered before now with it at that staus (a squeezebox boom as it happens) and it was shipped within 48hours.

Brilliant, I've ordered one :) Hope the other half doesn't mind...

Heat & rep for all :)

Cant see new for £149.99 - can you advise ?
#15
Ahhhhhh.........missed it!

Why am I always an hour too late?
#16
dammit, do you think they will honour it?

Any spares going, let me know.
#17
Well now I feel bad. I must have got the last one. Sorry guys!

I hope they do honour it though; it's not so low as to be a misprice, considering the new model WBRacing mentioned.
#18
Put it in your basket , don't buy it though , check it 3-4 times a day , when the price drops you get the notification , then just 1 click .

Be patient

Oh I am certain they will, their prices do bounce around all over the place. The easiest thing for those who missed out is to add it to their basket, they go to their basket and check the "save for later" button. Then, everytime you go to the amazon web page go to "my basket" and if the price has changed a big red notification banner will appear and tell you what price it has changed from, and now to. That is exactly how I was able to spot this and other bargains on Amazon.

For those who did buy one (hymerman ;-) ) here are a couple of useful links:
Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SqueezeCenter
Slim server Wiki: http://wiki.slimdevices.com/index.php/Main_Page
Forums: http://forums.slimdevices.com/

Have fun, I hope you enjoy it.

In case anyone is not aware, you can get a full touchscreen remote app for the iPod Touch (or iPhone) that works with the squeezebox.

So if you have either of these, and you dont mind using it as a remote, you can buy the squeezebox duet receiver for about £90 and install the app from appstore (squidgy or squeemote) for £5

This gives you the sound quality and function for less money if you already have the iPod/iPhone

Hope this helps some people :)

Thanks to OP. I never normally check 'new' items until they're hot. Glad I did been after one of these for ages to go with the squeezebox booms.
#22
Anyone getting a delivery today? Mine is scheduled for Saturday (apparently), but Amazon are now showing them back in stock at £215, with guaranteed next day delivery....
#23
I ordered mine before I posted this deal up and my ETA is tomorrow.
#24
erm dare i ask what exactly this does?
#25
"Delivery estimate: 25 Aug 2009 - 8 Sep 2009 " for me!

Clnmckec: it's a very high quality networked music player. It'll stream music hosted somewhere on your network (or the Internet, or wherever), so it's ideal for people like me that have a server with their music collection in a different part of the house to the living room, where I want to play music. It'll also do lots of other clever things like sync up playing with other similar devices, so you can have the same music playing all over the house for parties.
#26
sounds nice tempted
#27
I ordered mine when there were 4 left in stock. My delivery estimate is showing as tomorrow (30th July). I am an amazon prime member and normally anything I order arrives next day...
#28
I just received a despatch email from Amazon so it looks like they are honouring the deal :-D
#29
gutted i missed this one, anyone got a spare one?
