I have had many logitech products and only ever had one of them fail, which was a cheap mouse that I bought when it was on sale... had it for about 18 months before it died, contacted logitech and they sent me a similar spec mouse (they no longer sold the type that died) and just told me to dispose of the other mouse responsibly, or that I could send it to them and they would dispose of it by recycling it. I am still using that wireless mouse now, almost 3 years later.
I know it can be a matter of speaking to the right person, time of day, which way the wind is blowing even... but if you get a dud rep, contact them again and speak to someone else. I have about 10 logitech prodcuts, mostly mice and keyboards admittedly and have no regrets at all, especially for the price I usually pay for them when they are on sale :D
I was even considering this, until it went OOS.

I used to have a Logitech Harmony One remote control....I owned it for 5 yrs and then one day it refused to power on. I tried to remove the rechargeable battery to check it but found it had swelled slightly and couldn't be removed.

On contacting Logitech about buying a replacement battery they apologised and said they are sorry and this shouldn't have happened. 3 days later I received a brand new Logitech Harmony touch remote...(£100 worth)

Not bad customer service imo....
