This was also only posted as "weekend offer" . My post is certainly outside of that now IMO.

Thanks vibeone, I have to agree its a very good mouse and a sound investment for netbooks and laptops alike. packs away nicely and enables easy scrolling forward and backwards through webpages with the additional buttons on the top left side.

Is the mouse nano? Or just the received... looking for something like this but with a practical size mouse.

The reciever is nano but i have to say the mouse is also small, measures 10cm long by 5cm wide (approx) its not to small to fit comfortably in my hand while not being overly big to stash with a netbook on the move.

Hope this helps:thumbsup:

Mouse is normal size - wireless adapter is Nano.

This is the BEST wireless mouse I have ever used - tried all kinds of Microsoft Mice - including the Wireless Notebook Presenter Bluetooth and this is streets ahead for quality and battery life.

Even the scroll wheel is weighted beautifully so it spins so easily. I keep the Nano adapter permanently in my notebook - so it's always ready.

Heat and Rep - great price - just ordered another 3 for family and friends at this price.

is it any good for gaming?

Due to its fast reaction to movement and the accuracy of it i would have to say yes, C & C 3 is alot easier with this!!!:)

Mouse isn't normal size, it's about 2/3 normal size.

Agreed! have the logitech mx revolution, another awesome mouse :D and its HUGE compared to the nano!!

The nano is perfect for netbooks but can easily be used with desktops too.
comes with a carry pouch it snugly fits into, the reciever is tiny and great for netbooks again and you can even slot the reciever into its own place inside the battery compartment for safe keeping :)
#13
Yep, the best mouse I've ever had. It's not a travel sized mouse, but not a full desktop size either, somewhere inbetween and absolutely perfect for all day use.

Sorry but this appears a bad deal when you compare it to a similar mouse at Argos for under £10! http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Search?storeId=10001&catalogId=1500001501&langId=-1&searchTerms=LOGITECH+WIRELESS+MOUSE&Submit=GO+%3E .

Lat week I picked up a really good small wireless mouse and keyboard for £14.99 at Netto! I repalced the useless logitech one I had ! The Netto one was far better it was just plug and play nothing to set up at all and had a range of 10 m compared to the logitech one which was about 3m!

The link you posted was for an altogether different type of mouse, the dongle is the size of a house brick in comparison to this Nano version and the additional features on the VX benefit the laptop / netbook user in adtition to pc gamer with its precision and fuctionality. while i dont disagree £10 for a wireless mouse is a good deal its horses for courses.

Here is another recomendation from an actual user of one. :)

Thanks pedster. Nice deal, just ordered.

I got the Logitech V220 from the Argos offer the other week but the Dongle is just too big. I keep knocking it. I'm going to take it back tomorrow and ask for a refund under their 30 day money back guarantee. Anyone know how they are about returns? Are they easy going or try to make it difficult? Just wondering if I need to be prepared for a fight! The V220 is absolutely fine but the dongle is just too big and gets in the way. I think I have grounds to return. Does anyone disagree/agree?
#18
This is an excellent mouse, especially for NC10... small dongle is brill...

Pls note though: The click wheel does not act as a button, so if you use this feature, may be worth thinking again.
#19
Great mouse have used one since it came out. I have the logitech mx rev for desk use this for on the move.

It's by some margin the best notebook mouse out there.
#20
Anyone got a spare dongle, or know where to get one?

I opened mine but because its that naff plastic sealed packaging, had to pull it hard after cutting it, and the (little) dongle went flying off somewhere, and have searched and searched, but cannot find it anywhere!! So have never actually used the mouse with my netbook..!

There is a small button just below the wheel which acts as the wheel button...if you get what I mean. :-D You don't lose that functionality; you just need to get used to moving your middle finger off the wheel and down a bit before pressing. Slight pain, but you get used to it.

Fantastic mouse - defo getting another one.

Do you mean the bit where you can click it down and then mouse the entire mouse up and down to scroll?

Sorry but that mouse isn't in the same league as this (although that is a very good price). I bought mine for this price a few months ago and it is by far the best mouse I have used. The scroll wheel is a superb piece of engineering. The mouse slides with minimal effort. It is a smaller (notebook sized) mouse but manages to have the comfort and feel of a larger mouse.

As the other post says it is a shame the middle button isn't there but I have got used to it now really. I moved the function onto the upper of the two small buttons on the left of the 'Left Button' (one of the arrow buttons)

As for battery life, mine has been on rechargeables since I bought it and still has weeks of coninous life left in it. I think it said 180 days when I first put them in (yes it tells you :-) )

The dongle, like others have said, is tiny and can easily be left in the laptop all the time. The mouse connects instantly and also appears to have a standby function which again it recovers instantly from.

Yes.

In Firefox for instance this is used ALL of the time for opening new tabs/closing tabs.

From my post above I put the middle button function onto that top left button:

http://www.hinnavaatlus.ee/images/news/logitech_vx_nano.jpg

You can customize all of the functions so have it as you want :-)

Pic of the carry case thing you get:

Is that a mini Bluetooth transmitter or just RF?

It's not Bluetooth! If they made this mouse with Bluetooth, I would have an accident in my pants.

However, the dongle is so small it's irrelevant. You can leave the dongle in any USB port of any laptop/netbook and it won't make any difference to putting it in a slip case or bag, because it only sticks out by a few millimetres and you will never even notice it.

You have no grounds for returning it, but you could still try as Argos may take it back, anyway.

Grounds for return are faulty goods or not fitting the description as sold. Anything else is at the discretion of Argos.

It is not the default behaviour, but you CAN set the middle button to act this way. In the logitech control panel, assign the middle button to 'universal scroll'.

Not on the VX Nano; the middle-click (i.e. clicking the wheel down) will only switch the wheel between free-spin or notch modes. There's no way to change it in the software (because it's not recognised as a button), but as mentioned already the small Search button just below the wheel can be assigned the normal middle click command. Works nicely.

Very nice mouse and very portable, also comes with a small protective pouch to stop it getting damaged.
#31
whats the furthest distance you can have between the mouse and receiver?
#32
Well in my flat it started to drop out at about 7 metres and through 2 doors..

Had one for over a year and it is perfect.

The small dongle is permanently attached to my Samsung NC10.

Returned it today absolutely no problem. Argos have a 30 Day Money Back Guarantee. Bought the VX Nano from PC World (£24.99 with 99p Quidco to come). What a difference the tiny USB dongle makes.
