can anyone confirm whether this uses a mini usb device - as in no wires. i do not want a keyboeard and mouse which connect to a unit which is wired to the computer?
i hope that makes sense?!

The Peripherals connect to the PC via a dongle that plugs into a USB port, there is also a cable provided if you want to have the dongle away from the PC a bit. It uses 2.4 Ghz wireless and is not as the name would suggest Cordless although thats what it says on the box for some strange reason.

This is important as Wireless has a much larger range and is not "Line of Sight". I had this keyboard upstairs while I was on the toilet controlling the PC in the front room... I was just sitting there, I wasn't doing anything... testing the range as such. Cordless requires line of sight and can be limited to roughly 2m or less

To clarify you need to plug a small (3 cm) reciever into a USB port, the keyboard and mouse themselves have no wires at all.

Why does their picture show a wire coming out of the keyboard ?

Answer......guess because it's Currys.

Currys are absolute rubbish... their wireless keyboards have a wire attached.

You don't have to use it because its wireless, but just in case you felt lost without a cable coming out.

great price! Bought the wired one for my OH a while back for similar price, anyone had any experience with the included mouse? I have a logitech VX but the wireless range on it is pants! You have to put the dongle so close to it that it may as well be wired

Love logitech products <3

I can confirm that the range on the mouse and the keyboard is pretty hot. I bought the set as a part of a Home Theatre PC I just built and I can sit on the Sofa 2-3m away from the PC and use them without a problem...

Was the VX wireless or Cordless?

Cordless, I think its mostly meant for laptops so you don't need it far away from the usb dongle, but its still appalling, the further away it is the faster it drains the battery too! Might end up buying this as its a decent price, really I wanted a keyboard with a backlight but the nice ones are prety expensive!
