Yes agreed, I have had these for a year or so now and they are superb for the price. I wouldn't look at another set for the PC unless you want to spend £100+
#5
Can somebody please explain how to connect these speakers to a PS3? Thanks
#6
We have these speakers for our main PC & I also highly recommend them, am now tempted to grab another set for the PS3. Thanks for posting

Good price for decent speakers.

I was almost about to buy those when I saw that Comet had the Logitech Z-4s for £40, which, it turns out, were very much worth the extra £10.

Voted hot though :-)

Edit: The console adapters come separately (On these and the Z-4s) :P

Too much Bass in this model...

Good speakers but as above there's a lot of bass even with the bass volume turned all the way down, bit difficult in a terrace!

That's £35 over RRP, you were robbed!

Anyway, on the Z-4 you can turn the bass (AKA the sub) to pretty much zero, doesn't this set have the same function? If not, I would advise against this set if you live anywhere near finicky neighbours as Logitech subs certainly do their job!
#12
they r really good speakers
#13
nice speakers but the bass on these is a little too hard....even when its turned off its still very heavy

i got mine months ago for 20 pound from comet with a 5 pound voucher i had...stil good value at 30 though

Agreed, I've got the Z-5500 set which are magnificent, but I got these for my girlfriends birthday and I was really impressed with the sound quality. The bass is a little overpowering at first, but you can tweak it easily to get a balanced sound. Well worth £30!
#15
I've got the 5.1 version, they are fantastic! highly recomend them.

I do tend to agree with the bass is loud on these but it can be turned down at the sub and you can tweak audio settings using various programs. excellent speakers for the money.
#16
Why have you plut the store down as Play.com?
#17
Yeah I bought the z-4's for £40 and it is worth the extra 10 even if its just because you can adjust the bass seperately

Found this review in amazon. Sounds like you can connect with the adaptor supplied

My mate bought a similar 5.1 Logitech system that he connected to his PS3 with an adaptor cable also.

Perfect companion for PS3, 8 Aug 2007
By Mr. S. Watts "HeresCuckoo" (London, UK) - See all my reviews

Ordered these Sunday and received yesteray.

First I connected them the easiest way I could - 3.5mm jack straight into the headphone socket on my tv. Sounded very good and was pleased with the purchse

Much to my delight though these speakers actually come with the adaptor for connecting the speakers directly to the audio out (red+white phono leads) of your games console, in this case PS3

I was surprised as the inclusion of the adaptor had not been mentioned anywhere and I had spent ages trawling the net for an adaptor without much success.

Once connected the sound quality seemed to me to be vastly improved. A nice rich sound high on clarity

I am absolutely chuffed with these speakers, a great improvement over the built in speakers found on LCD tellys Help other customers find the most helpful reviews

I've also had the 5.1 speaker version of this (X530 I think) for a 2 or 3 years now. Once of the best PC speakers IMHO. I now use them with my projector, excellent for movies
#20
paid £25 3 years ago... best value speakers you can get.

I dont know about now but a couple of years ago this was pretty much the most rated sub £100 pair of speakers. The amazon reviews speak for themselves.

Oops simple error.

Doesn't seem to let me change it now, oh well!
#22
This is probably a really naive question, but are all the sub and satellites easy to mount on a wall?
#23
was after a good set of speakers to use for the ps3 at uni - thanks!
#24
I have a pair of these connected up to my computer and bass isn't a problem as you can use EQ software to turn it down.

I have my sub sitting on the floor, so fiddling around with the bass settings on the back of the sub is a pain - much easier just to turn the bass right down and tweak it to how you like it using the Windows built-in EQ or the software provided with your sound card.

I paid £24.99 for these a few months ago from Comet. Seems like they're back up to full price at £49.99 now so this seems a good deal based on the current selling price elsewhere.
#25
Great speakers, hot
#26
Satellites are easily wall mountable, you just unscrew the bracket and turn it around IIRC. Speakers are excellent quality, you'd have to spend over £100 to get close to this quality. Bass is heavy but as the other reviewers say, you can tweak it on the sub and via your PCs' HD sound controller to get a more rounded sound. As a DJ/producer I use them as backup speakers on my office pc and playback my own demos and stuff people send me occasionally and am naturally very picky, believe me I wouldn't use these if it didn't give you a reasonably true reflection of the actual sound.
#27
Can these be used with X360 straight from the box? Without buying any adapter or anything.

Thanks
#28
I have the 5.1 version of these and they are well good, a must buy.
#29
These speakers are amazing! The sound quality is outstanding! :)

The bass can be turned down with the these also, there is a control knob on the sub. Well at least there is on my 5.1 set.
#31
Are these, or the Z4's any better than connecting a pc to a regular hifi system? I have quite an old Aiwa Midi system which I use for my PC audio, and am toying with something like these, or maybe the Z4's at £39.99 at Comet. Just wondering if its worth it or keep as I am??
#32
I would like to know if you can connect these or the 5.1 x250s up to a television easily. Ideally I'd like to set it up in my living room connected to both my Xbox and TV.
#34

Seems ok plus I think you could get 5% Quidco if you buy from the dell site.
#35
Not a hot price then but just what I was looking for anyway

I got these speakers today and you can connect them to the tv in two ways :

1) Plug 3.5mm (green jack) cable directly into the headphone socket on your TV

2) Better way - buy a red & white phono to phono lead (male connectors) and plug this in the audio out of your TV (check it has the connectors first) with the adaptor supplied. I bought the cable for £4.48 from B&Q today, no doubt you can get it cheaper on fleabay etc. Well pleased with the result - great for music, games and movies

Yep, Dell still have them for £29.99.
