Crank up the audio on your PC with this 2.1 speaker system and enjoy clean, crisp, consistent sound from your games, music, and more. The Logitech X-230's high-tech subwoofer adjusts itself dynamically to deliver distortion-free bass. And the two wall-mountable satellite speakers use Logitech's patented FDD2 technology to eliminate the uneven sound response created by conventional dual-driver designs. The result: a clear, uniform sound field without the "hot spots" and inconsistency of other dual-driver satellites.

I have been pointing a lot of folk in the direction of these monsters. If you want speakers for an mp3 player, pc etc these are the ones to have.

Great bit of kit I bought some last year.

Managed to get a set for £12 in PC World some time back, as the last box was open, and they said they had them in stock and i had gone for the 'store pick up' option ........ but they had not accounted for shoplifters! So dont forget to haggle for 'shop soiled'!!

These are brilliant value for money...I have two pairs and they are excellent

Newbie post -- hopefully, not too stoopid:

Does anyone here know if this would be OK to use with a micro hifi system? Our system's amplifier has a connection for a subwoofer. But when we've hunted around for subwoofers, they've all been GIANTS. All we want is something small that can give a little bass boost.

But we don't know if this Logitech system would get around that problem, i.e., would it be possible to power up the subwoofer alone, connected to our micro hifi set-up, and not use the Logitech speakers?
#15
Voted hot, Thanks mate i've ordered one. You da man! =)

I have a set of these in the bedroom MCE setup and they're great - worth every penny in my humble opinion

unfortunately they wont work mate, these come as a one piece system, i.e the sub wont work without the speakers and vice versa, they only come with a 3.5mm audio jack which fits into standard headphone connections, so thats the only way it could connect to ur microhifi... i know what u mean about all the subwoofers around being huge, and expensive lol! :x
#19
Quick question - do these have a separate power supply, or is the power supply built into the subwoofer? Thanks!

Hi serial, many thanks for that -- 's just saved me finding out the expensive way for myself! The help's much appreciated; guess it's back to the drawing board for us again in the hunt for a small, cheap, subwoofer from, um, somewhere??!!!!

*Guess wot: we've just received a Chrissie present of a bedside CD set-up which includes a "subwoofer cable" for connecting to "subwoofer (optional)". So that's now two things we have with subwoofer connections for the subwoofer we don't have / can't find / probably doesn't exist. . .:?

Thanks for the feedback thegaffer1 :)

These are still available at this price ;-)

hi,

Can someone please tell me, do these speakers just require a 3.5mm jack?

I mean, would the 2.1 work if you only had the single 3.5mm jack on my computer?

Thanks

got these about 2 weeks ago after seeing this thread, they are awesome (for the price) thanks a lot!

Depends on your soundcard - if just regular stereo, then probably not.
#26
I have a 2.1 system on my computer and yes it works by using the audio out 3.5mm jack at the back.

Will these work with 7.1 sound? I have more 3.5 sockets on the back of the new Dell than you can skake a stick at !
#31
They could be used on there, but if you have a 7.1 capability maybe you would want to make use of that by choosing a 7.1 system?
#32
The reviews and the price made me to order now. Good find Ray. Voted hot!
#33
