Im sure Amazon did it automatically with a previous purchase of mine, left4dead 2 bought at £29.99 and they reduced it to £24.99 just before they sent it, they refunded me £5 and sent an email informing me.

You can wait for it or phone them and get them to do it there and then.

I've got two sets of them (one for where I am currently, one for use when 'home'); and for the price, I can't fault them much.

The sub is VERY loud (it's also very big!), but with volume and power still comes good quality; although it will vibrate even the sturdiest of furnishings. The only down-side I've found, is if you want to spread the set-up around a bit, so the 'rear' speakers actually are rear, etc. then the cable's aren't quite as long as you'd want, but if you're planning on keeping them close to the source anyway, then it won't be a problem.

I've paid around and then slightly more than this price for both sets each time, and for the price, it's a good bit of kit, IMO :)

I also ordered these -price was 49.99 with £10 off code- and status is dispatching soon
Would you wait and see for price match or contact them?
Ordered seller was Logitech , new seller is Amazon.

Thanks for that, im gonna go for the cheaper 2.1 speakers, rooms to small for this me thinks, might upgrade to these in the future though if this price is available often.

Reviews are a bit hit & miss.

You could be unlucky with these it seems OR you could be blown away.

Build quality is a bit inconsistant.

Good luck.

Never a doubt :)

I had the X-540s and they were amazing for the price. These aren't much different.

As somebody mentioned above, the length of the rear speaker cables is pathetic. I was in a 6ft x 7ft room and they weren't long enough to have them trunked properly. Extension cables a must.
#17
Nice looking & decent sound but big problem I & others have with these is when you have the Volume down low you get a hissing noise & it's a pain in the Erse.
#18
Awesome deal, like greenfeld I've got the X540's from the deal a week or two back and they sound amazing. If these are anywhere near as good, and given Logitech's standards they should be, this is a great deal.
#19
question. i think i may buy these as my current ones which i have had for aq good 3-4 years have started to lose alot of sound quality with crackling like noises most of the time (kinda like a really heavy base noise). Anyways my current ones allow me to have my Xbox plugged in the AUX port and then i have my PC in a seperate port and a source button switches between the two so i can have both plugged in at once. Can i do that with these? Thanks
#20
only if X540s were 45-50 i'd buy em, may have to get these in a week

Does anyone know if and how these would work with a TV? I have a Sony Bravia and from what I can see, these have 3 x 3.55mm headphone connections but my TV has just the one 3.55mm input.

Cheers

You won't be able to play stuff from your tv onto these as you will need an output 3.5mm not input.

what's the difference between 540 & 530?

the 540s have a button on the remote which makes l and r sounds signals feel more surround

My mistake. it's an output.
#28
Yeah, you just plug in the green cable and you can use them with the TV - you won't get surround though, just 2.1.

I've had these speakers for years and I think, for the price, they sound fantastic. As previously mentioned the sub is loud but you can turn it up and down using a knob on the back of it, and if its still too loud you can reduce your bass levels a bit if you're using Windows ( not sure about OS X ). Only downside is they are prone to interference when turned down very low, though its not really an issue.

Can some one explain how, you plug your PS3 into these? I don't understand how they work through the 3.5mm jacks! could I also plug SKY HD into them as well?

You plug them into your TV, so they dont connect directly to your PS3, so when these are connected via 3.5mm Jack in your TV, it outputs the sound to the speakers as oppose to the TV's speakers, so whatever is on the TV will come out of these speakers so will work with your PS3, Sky HD, etc.

Can you control the headphone volume with the knob on the speaker?

You can't on the X-230's.
#34
Have the 2 speaker set of these bought for damn near this price. Very good, solid sound all around. Bass is a little uncontrollable from the hardware side but this can be substituted with EQ settings. Only thing with mine is I have found the connected between the subwoofer and 2 speakers to now be a little temperamental if jogged. But 1) This could be my fault in transport of the speakers for Uni and back and 2) AFAIK this connection is not the same type on this set (my housemate has this one, can also attest to its quality).

Great deal

I have these, good sound quality but they have a problem with picking up radio interferance because they are poorly shielded, if you google it you will see a lot of people have a similar problem, its a minor fault just thought i'd give the heads up

Yeah these are excellent speakers, i paid a lot more for mine a while back. But the radio interference is a bit spooky, i first noticed it late at night and it freaked me out until i worked out where the noise was coming from....but it only seemed to happen occasionally when the volume was turned really low so its a minor gripe.

..and it always seemed to be French(-sounding) radio whenever I got this problem in the past (very rarely); which I found to be that little bit more weird.

Yes this is right. If the price of the item comes done in 28 days of purchase then just drop them an email and AMAZON will refund the amount. I have experienced this more than once.
