Thank you so so so so so...much! This is a super hot deal, my friend owns this speakers for more than a year and they are very good and for the price, they are great! I missed the previous deal on commet and I was upset. Thank you amazon :D

Same price at Currys and you get Quidco on top.

I see these speakers added on here at this price quite often, is it not just the case that this is how much they go for rather than it being a good deal?

As always, worth noting - Rear speaker cables are very short and when you have them turned on they can pick up foreign radio stations. The latter isn't a huge problem especially if you turn them off when you're not using them.

Great system, had a similar 5.1 for a few years now, plenty of bass too!

I brought these speakers a few years ago. Mine had a have a fault where they would pick up radio frequency, which I could only solve by not using rear speakers. Probably a very rare problem and completely dependent on where you live. There is a video on Youtube if you want to take a look.

Not bad for the price but very bass heavy if not on the lowest bass setting (which can be adjusted on the sub). You might also need to adjust the equalizer to get best out of them.

Could this plug into both your TV and PC / Laptop at the same time? I'm a 5.1 rookie.

    Tiger Direct video for X-530

Update: The satellites remain in 'upright' position contrary to the video as pointed out by 'Aliwoo18' later in this thread.

whilst i was at uni 2 of my friends and myself bought a set of these speakers each as for the money they are great. not the best sound quality but more than enough to keep the average music listener/gamer happy.

i upgraded after a couple of weeks to some Acoustic Aego M 2.1 speakers (for around £60) as, like the above post says, the rear speaker cables are rather short and dont really allow the speakers to be placed far enough away - thus defeating the point of a 5.1 system.
I have recently purchased the harmon kardon soundstick III's and would recommend them to anyone looking for a cheap (£90) sound system for use with a laptop or desktop pc.

good price for these at the moment op so voted hot :-)

I've had these for about a year and I'm very happy with them. The speaker cables are a tad short if you want to set them up properly in a normal-sized room, but apart from the front-right (which incorporates the volume and power controls so has a non-standard cable) they can all be extended with standard phono m-f leads (which are cheap enough on Ebay). I have encountered a little radio interference but only when they're switched on but not being used with the volume turned quite a way up.

I have the old 2.1 version of this and it sounds reasonable. This deal is good value :-)

    Yes and Yes.

note that when wall mounted, the satellites speakers will be upside down. Look at this youtube video

The guy on the YouTube video is wrong, when you swivel the base around it makes it so that the screw hole is in the right position to mount them upright (ie still with the base/bracket at the bottom). I have mine wall mounted so I do know

I've been looking for a deal on some good 2.1 or 2.0 speakers for my PC. Something like the GigaWorks t40. Nothing seems to come up.

I've just checked m X-530. You are absolutely correct. They indeed do remain upright.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very good, but scary!, 26 Jan 2008

The first day i had these speakers i was very happy with the design and power, which compared to my previous 2.1 system was extremely impressive! I found the sound immersive, and with the bass up on its high setting i could see the items on my desk begin to party along with the music! Overall for the first few days i was extremely impressed but then strange things started to happen! :(

Laying in bed with the computer off and the speakers on standby i began to feel as if i was not alone, and indeed, i was not! After hearing some brief murmers in the corner of my room i went completely quite to try and identify this spooky occurance! After waiting for a little while i dismissed the noise as coming from a neighbour and settled back to sleep, but then as i finally felt myself falling asleep i heard a crackling then a short and fairly loud sentence resonate from the corner of my room! to the tone of a haggered hobo i heard the words 'Voulez vous coucher avec moi'! Now theres me terrified in bed thinking im being hauted by a sexually confused french can-can dancer and i hear a double click and some interference which alerts me to the scientific cause of the hanting...the x530 sattelite speakers pick up foreign radio channels in stand by! Obviously very problematic for someone of a nervous disposition, hence the 4 stars. I graudually got used to the foreign radio and if it got too much i simply turned them completely off, so no biggy :)

Overall highly recommended, but only if you can bear the foreign hauntings of the x530!
