i bought this from Comet before christmas, used a code to get it down to 16.99. This was when Comet was doing that 'win a code between 5%-50%' if anyone remembers.

Great speakers to be honest. sound is great and base is pretty good. on FULL volume it does ruine it though. Apart from that, go for it.

The Z323 has far better quality than this IMO.

I've owned both.

About £35, but you will not regret it.

Will these connect to a laptop ok?
#10
Yes, they do need there own power socket though as the sub is powered.

I paid 25 for these a while back, I'm a bit of an audophile but I needed something in a rush for my Xbox 360, the sub is a little boomy, and the volume control (at least when hooked to the Xbox) is quite sensitive, but nothing to write home about. Seem well build, pretty good looking. Can't go wrong for this price :) Heat added.

Been looking for something like this, seems a good deal.

Can you collect in store or is it delivery only?
#12
These are great!

Got them when the amazon deal was posted they cost me £14.99 =]

Excellent quality and very loud! A bit TOO bassy though imo
#13
Great Deal was looking at these the other day but were all £25+

Will collect them tomorrow!
#14
Good speakers, especially when they were at 9.69 (inc. Quidco) from Comet a while back!
#15
Reading reviews on these speakers seem to be very good - might order some. Heat added

I bought these a few months ago, good for the price, But the sub is a little overpowering at volume.

but would still recommend
#17
Same here, had these for quite a long time now and never run the sub at less than the lowest volume as I live in flats and they are very bassy if turned up further. Even so they are excellent value for the money and worth a recommendation.

Sorry for the dumb question, I have a mate who's on the lookout for something like this but ideally wants something with an optical in connection. If he went for these, how do they connect to a 360 & is there a model similar to this but with optical in? Thnks for any replies & h & r added for this, seems a bargain going from ther comments here...

Hi, noticed these in tesco last night at £20, reduced from £40, sorry just remembered they were actually the s220 model, certainly look very similar, possibly a newere / older model - anyone ???

one question do they plug into the usb socket off the pc to actually power them ?? so you would get an audio input plugand also a usb plug ????

thinking about using them with my little 02 joggler ??!!

Same here, i want them for my joggler and i was wondering if they would work if i plugged them into the headphone socket.

They're not usb powered.

I have the x530 (5.1) and they're fairly ok...
They'd be great for you if you're a bass-junkie... bass is so overpowering all other frequencies even on Zero setting!
but I can't really b**** about it for that price

Okay so they must come with there own power supply. dont see how they would not work with the joggler then ??

Hi, do these have a line in please?? to run through my ps3 as i use hdmi to pc monitor

Thanks
#24
I purchased these a couple of months back at full price they are cracking speakers for the price.
#25
They're mains powered, and the input is a standard stereo headphone connection. So they'll connect to pretty much anything.

They are pretty powerful, as said before the bass is overpowering but can be turned down, but are definitely the best you can get in this price range. I got them for around a tenner and was amazed at what I got for the money, in my opinion they're still worth it at this price.

By the way, the have been 'superseded' by a newer model, but the newer one is not as good. So stick with these if you can still get them.

As for optical in, these don't have it but then again they also are nowhere near good enough to warrant it. You have to go pretty hi-fi to get the benefit of an optical in, most human beings wouldn't know the difference. If he wants something with optical in, then he might as well spend the money to get the full benefit of it.

Cheers Slimy, will take a pass on these then but still good for what they are, ta for the heads up OP :)

I purchased these a while ago locally in a pc store and they are great for the PS3, which is what i use them for. Use HDMI to the monitor for your picture but use a component or the old Euro AV/scart to connect to the speakers (youll need a headphone jack thing as well (bout £2 at an electric store). Never been able to turn them up fully as they are so bassy....recommend them to anyone with a limited budget and space...the adapter you need has a standard headphone input on 1 end and 2 inputs on the other end for your red and white audio inputs..

Ok, me saying what I said was not put in context right.

If you only have £18, then get these. You can't go wrong.

But if you want a much better pair of speakers, get the Z323.

Big difference in power between the two sets.
#32
Thanks op, ordered..

In my opinion, no. The X210 is a front runner in this price range, I think you'll be paying alot more before they get beaten.

Is it possible to connect Sky HD and an Xbox 360 to these?
#35
Thanks and reserved one.

Connect the Sky box and Xbox to the tv and then connect the speakers to the headphone socket on your tv. That's what I do with similar speakers.
