This deal was available from Amazon in August but I thought it would go lower so I waited.

It went same price just now 2 months later so just ordered it.

Now, the house will levitate!

i nearly bought these early today @£239.99 as a spare for my gigaworks s750 7.1 as the control pod is doing what most do keep resetting at amp.

lol bad wording, i would never purchase these at more than £200... they always fluctuate so much, best price i have seen these at is usually just below £200

Congratulations to anyone who chooses to buy these!

As PC speakers they're ok - and in fairness quite a bit far beyond the usual small 2 speaker set-up most will have whether built in on your monitor or as 2 separates.

But as 'quality' hi-fi speakers for music & film in the home generally?

Well, not to bash anyone & their choices but I'd certainly be looking elsewhere for sure.

it surprises me people would pay this much for speakers made by a company that make keyboards and remotes

See, problem i have with this deal is this;

These speaks are like 7 years old [CORRECTION: 10 years old]. They've also been around the £220 mark since like 2005 (when i was actually considering buying them). I'd have thought logitech would have updated them/added more optical ports. There's only 1 optical and a coaxial port :/

To see them still at the same price so many years later is a little disappointing. I guess there isn't really a market anymore for development of PC speakers, what with AV receivers and 5.1 cinema setups becoming the norm.

I guess this isn't really a rant at the deal, more at logitech and the product itself. I just don't like investing in old tech.

505 Watts ! Is that RMS or PMPO?
Not voting either way, as no doubt some *rse of a neighbour will buy one and ruin the foundations !
#15
I've actually got two sets of these running together from my PC and when set up properly, they sure can make the windows rattle! Granted, they're not the most hi-fi of speakers on the market but for this price, I think they're a bargain and a fab upgrade from cheaper 2.1 setups. Only gripe i've had is that the LED backlights on the control pod tend to burn out after a few months of use. Not a huge problem thought - just a niggle.

I have the exact same problem, I really REALLY have wanted to buy these for the past 2-3 years but knowing my luck the moment I buy 'em they will release an upgraded the model.

You won't get anything close as good as this for the price.

For £200, these speakers have to be the best!

I have mine linked to the PC via Coax Cable, Xbox360 and PS3 via Optical and the TV via Audio leads.

Overall For PC, TV and Console use they have been excellent. If your house is joined onto someone elses you will get complaints lol, They are loud. I would even consider using them as a budget / starter home cinema kit, Its not far off my Yamaha budget home cinema kit...

I wouldnt go with any other speakers for my rooms setup, Im actually quite suprised at how they have never realy dropped far below the £200 mark considering how long they have been out
#19
oh, I only paid £180 for mine from Novatech over 2 years ago, Novatech now sell them at £375!!!

My Backlight burnt out on mine not long ago but Logitechs Warranty is 2 years so they replaced the whole speaker setup with a new one for free straight away. They said the backlight problem has now been sorted with new components etc.
#20
I bought this set around 5 years ago and it's great.

Can't see why anyone would spend several times more on a home cinema system, the quality/cost ratio is surely best at this end of the market.
#21
I have a set of these speakers too. I have personly found them fantastic for PC games, Music and for hooking up to my ps3 via the optical cable port. I realise people are saying that they arent the BEST hi-fi speakers, but for most people they are beyond what they would ever need and most likely expect from a set of speakers... i personaly cant rate then enough, 10/10 in my book and for £200 they are great value.

Good to hear, I won't have to resort to Amazon Customer Service (A1) in case there's trouble. Hopefully this manufacturer does its job.

Have to say my experience of Logitech's Customer Service has been fantastic. When the backlight on mine went, they were very helpful and sent out a replacement set a few days later. The 2 year warranty should give you peace of mind too.

At this end of the speaker market, these are a billy bargain I reckon.

I bought these about 4 years ago and never looked back!

i have them paired up with a sound blaster elite pro sound card and it honestly is like being in a night club. The bass is unreal

People who slate them clearly either a) havent used them or b) have a rubbish sound card

They where PC zones best buy speakers for years, even when the magazine finished last month!

Just shows how popular they are, just read the reviews on amazon. Heavily praised by virtually everyone.

Well they are a computer peripheral company and this is certainly a computer peripheral although many people will use it as there main speaker set up. Myself and all of my mates currently own one and there brilliant. Just buy and optical switcher with it off ebay for a fiver as well, extends the optical ports to three then.

These are great speakers, I have mine paired with maudiophile 24/96 (another piece of old tech thats stood the test of time). Amazing quality!

Prepare to cry with joy as soon as you see the size of the box they will arrive in! Never mind when you enable the X-Fi crystalizer and listen to them full blast!

There are few things I've bought which have changed my life for the better, these speakers is one of them!
#30
Don't knock technology just 'cos it's 'old'! That's ridiculous. I have a 35 year old Quad Hi-Fi set up at home which blows most modern stuff out of the water.

These are great value tried and tested speakers that don't need 'updating'. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!
#31
There really are some chimps around here.

These speakers (and decoder) are superb. Hooked up to an optical input from your PC/PS3 they're simply amazing. I got them from Amazon for £179 around 3 years ago and they are well worth every penny.

Just make sure you've got plenty of room for that fat sub.

I'm hoping the bass goes into the [-] range with the control pod .. like the z5450 i have upstairs and unlike my Giga s750s downstairs where there is only subwoofer scale 1-10 green lights and no Bass control when connected to xbox via ddts100 decoder etc
