2. arthur Says: March 13th, 2010 at 7:59 pm I bought this from currys – contrary to the review it has no usb port. Also i should let people know that it won’t play divx movies either – loaded from a cd-r. The firmware upgrade for the lbd1000 loaded into this sorted out playing divx movies however. I should like to mention that the blu ray player frequently crashes, while playing movies. e.g you watch a movie, for say 30mins, then you press pause to make a cup of tea, but instead of pausing the player, it turns it off – acting as a standby button.

MikieC Says: April 4th, 2010 at 10:59 am Arthur, Currys had these on special offer at £49.97 yesterday and as they only had two left, I decided to go for it – having just splashed out on a new 50″ 1080p tv, I didn’t want to bankrupt myself on a BluRay and just wanted something to watch HD films on and this looked an absolute steal. The picture on this is superb and I was surprised at how quickly the disks loaded compared to some of the stories I’d heard of 5 mins or more to load a BluRay disk. Anyhow, I’ve had the problem you described with it crashing when pressing pause or the Title Menu button. It’s like playing Russian Roulette with the remote as some times it works OK and others it just shuts down. Do you know if there is a solution to this as even though it was a bargain, I’d rather take it back and spend £20-30 more on a player that works properly. Any advice would be helpful.

Just to follow on from my last post, after searching around, I downloaded the firmware for the LBD1000 (which everyone says also works with the LBD2000) and successfully updated the firmware.

However, it hasn’t solved the problem with crashing when pressing Pause, so I guess it’s going back to Currys on Monday
