Some of you, must have heard of Megabus. It is a long distance coach operator operated within the UK and on international routes starting from here as well. Advertised fares start at just £1/€1 with a 50p/50c booking fee.
In addition to its services from London to Brussels, Amsterdam and Paris, they opened a new route to Barcelona today! The fares start at just a pound. Take a look:

+ 50p booking fee - Price needs to be updated to £1.50 Cold from me
24 and a half hours to get there and 27 hours to get back - Rather not!! Another false deal from Holiday pirates
Really going to be that petty over a 50p booking fee!
May not be for everyone, but to travel to another country for £1.50 is a bargain

In the words of my girlfriend,

Rather do 22 hours overtime for 350 quid and take the hour plane for 80 quid and have and hour in the pub and use the rest on cheap wh*res

A valid point I feel.

Yup, no normally so petty, but don't agree with holiday pirates on here. They will only promote the deals that pay them most commission - and someone always points out why it isn't a good deal. I wouldn't trust them at all I'm afraid - who wants to spend 27 hours on a bus?

24 hours + 27 hours, good price but thanks.

surely its megabus doing the deal not holidaypirates so that should be in the title and link

Some people are idiots! Who votes cold for the sake of 50p!

Not for me but an amazing deal.
Best ignoring the pathetic cold comments.

HP obsessed with cheap price just for wow factor. When you factor time spent, cost of food while on travel it's actually more expensive than flying there. Megabus £1 fares has been there for more than 10years...

Food cost? You could take your own in a cooler bag if money was an issue.

Not true. We spend an awful amount of time price comparing and shopping around to ensure that the best deals available are posted. You are more than welcome to drop us a line if you ever see any deal cheaper somewhere else and we will update our blogs.

good find OP, anyone managed to do such a journey without losing their head?
#17
Would struggle to spend that long on a coach journey (can't sleep in moving vehicles). Hot though, great price, but would rather pay the extra for my sanity.
#18
Those long journeys are torture but you forget after

amazing deal. can't fault the value!!

24 hours on a bus oO

I've done 24hrs in a coach in the US in the past. Not gooing to lie, it was pretty horrendous... but as a backpacker it was the way to go. If I were still in that situation now I'd snap this up.

Jesus Christ, London to Barcelona on a Megabus! I did London to Paris on the megabus, and that was hard enough! Cracking deal though, if you don't mind the discomfort...

Ryanair flights are roughly £49 return. Considering the comfort and that I'd probably spend another £20 on food through a 24 hour journey, I would much rather take the flight. It's a cheap way to get a load of luggage there though, could be handy if by any chance anyone is on student exchange there.

Went once, never again. If the pick pockets don't get your money then the bars/restaurants will. One place was charging 20 Euro's for a pint.

Can't argue with that.

24 hours is no problem on a coach, in fact do it enough and you learn to appreciate things you don't get in most other forms of transport. You can get to know a stranger quite well after spending a whole day with them.
I find its also a great way of separating the trip from day to day life since the transition is drawn out. Gives the trip a special dream-like quality when you get back, especially if you go for only a day or two.
If I didn't have a limited number of holidays I'd book this in an instant.

Don't mean you have to pay it though, find another bar?

Someone that hates Barcelona, is not worth arguing with.

Don't know why anybody would vote cold. The bus into town cost £3.20 one way!

you might be lucky and the driver might not be playing with a mobile phone while driving
#34
well, no.. its a bus, not 1st class on a emirates flight... add the fact that the people that take these deals long distance coaches are unemployed stoners..

yes its £2.. but is 50 hours of travelling really worth so little? anyone that isnt a student should be ashamed to book this sort of thing

I took a coach to amsterdam 10 years a go when i was 17, and it was disgraceful. The coach driver was a lunatic driving way over the speeds he should have been going and i was surrounded by lowlifes..
#35
That would be one godawful busride. Did it to amsterdam overnight and that was bad enough but the wifi never works and if you get a dick bus driver they will force you to put everything under the bus.
