Is there any way to get free delivery on this? The £5 postage is putting me off, especially when I've not seen the clock 'in the flesh'.
#11
well you would have to get off you lazy ass and get down to one of argos four million stores :P

lol joke :)
#12
would be interested if not mains powered.

It does run on batteries as well. Just you have the option of mains power.
#14
How long would that last on batteries?

Don’t think so the batteries are in case of a short mains failure :whistling:

Would look very cool on the wall but who wants a mains lead trailing down from it

I think it would cost me more than a fiver to get there.

Battery backup will mean this would work on batteries - question is for how long though ?
#19
I like the 24hr clock so it's best to check instore if you do.
#20
Lovely looking clock for a modern environment - again, the only thing that puts me off is the fact it states mains powered. Sure it takes batteries but you don't make a clock mains powered unless you're admitting it would eat batteries! :)
#21
It says backup battery - so i'm sure its only intended for short term use maybe for an hour or two in case of a power cut

I bought one of these from Argos about 4 months ago, they will definitely only work through the mains, all the battery does is save the time settings should it get knocked off from the plug.
I took mine back, even though the display itself is really quite groovy when illuminated, it looked like ***** in my living room thanks to the big black lead running down the wall.
In the last Argos mag they didn't even mention that it would only run off the mains, so they refunded it no fuss.

Took mine back too, thought it looked great until I plugged it in. No good for a small room as you won't be able to see the time correctly. Also can't see the digits if you're room is bright and sunny.

Reserved one at my local store- thanks heat and rep added

Got mine today, however the lead is a thin white one, unless they have just updated it. Mega cool led light, that has a switch to change contrast.

Still seems a bit silly to have a power lead trailing down from a wall clock :?
#29
After putting mine up I think it'll be modded into a geeky new case! :)
