There is a shuttle laucn due on the 31st, possibility of delay. It's an amazing experience up close.

I find Katie Greggs posts quite funny.

Argh, help! I can't seem to find Orlando as a destination on that site anywhere... And I'm sorely tempted at this price (only just got back at the end of feb from orlado and gagging to get back there)

PLus, no quidco either. Unless I'm being doubley dumb?
#13
Sanford is much quieter than Orlando International and although you may have a bit further to travel once your there (which isn`t a worry with their highways) it`s much easier to travel through.
It`s such a shame that Gatwick isn`t more like Sanford.

Sanford - SFB

Thanks for the airport code androo, but I still can't find it on the site. *feels demented* :P
#16
It's under Florida Sanford (SFB)
#17
It is listed as florida, sanford
#18
its in the dropdown as Florida-Sanford :-)
#19
ok, correction (believe me, I'm not as stoopid as I sound right now...) I can find the destination, I can't make the airport appear on a flight search.
#20
Ahhhh, florida? I'll take a looksee

Cheap tickets but if you say a room would cost £25.00 per night (and thats being generous) then the total price for 2 weeks is about £550+

I'm not sure if it's cheap or expensive - what is the normal cost of a 2 week holiday here?

Ive done a google on it and the cost of a package holiday to florida per person is about £500 or under in some places
#22
is there car hire at sanford, like dollar or alamo
#23
Well, now that I can find the flights (HURRAH!) I've playing around and you can actually also get this price for a week (therefore cutting the cost of the room/living expense etc)

We were on a no expense spared holiday in feb (flights alone over 2k and staying at the Grand Cypress Villas) so I don't mind watching the pennies this time...

Ugh. Only just got back NY last month too. And of course, this is during school time (my two are off next week, not the week after).

What to do, what to do?!
#24
both alamo and dollar at Sanford on site

How do you get it for a week for same price?

What do you type in?

31st May - 7th June :) for a total £566.94 (inc all taxes etc) for one adult and two kids (one 13 other 10)

Indeed, it's very cheap.

Thomas Cook has flights to Orlando (sanford) on Friday 30th May 14 nights for £99 + taxes.

£680.00 for a family of four. Shame, have already booked mine.

Excellent find - we booked 2 weeks ago for June (2 adults/2 kids) flying from Manchester, staying on International Drive and we were almost £4,000, however, that did include car hire/insurance/tickets to parks - but still - wish I had held on.

Nightmare ... I booked 7 tickets to Orlando @ 600 each - could have saved an absolute bundle if this deal was around at the time. Voted hot anyway and good luck to anyone that can still make use of it.
Win some lose some.....

This is indeed very cheap. Just keep in mind its 40 minutes odd in a car to the centre of Orlando from Sanford. Yes it dosnt sound far but when you have been traveling for 12 hours....

I got virgin atlantic flights from manchester to orlando international a few months ago for around £300. Considering airport taxes and the cost of fuel they are literally giving these seats away.

Still dont make sense.

I can find package holidays to florida for 2 weeks for £475.00, which includes, flights, food and accommodation

Please tell me how the heck this is cheap when you add up the costs of accommodation?

Well you can easiliy get a decent hotel for £25 a night. Assuming 2 people sharing thats £350 for the accomodation and £378 for the flights. Works out at £364 per person for a 2 week holiday to Orlando.

Food is cheap over there no way I would want it included and end up with rubbish. You will need a hire car but you need one anyway really as everything is so spread out over there. This way you can choose where you stay as well.

good deal and I have found a cheap 5 bed villa in orlando which offers discounts to NHS, rail, forces, police, ambulance etc the website is www.myhotvilla.com
You could book 4 flights and a villa for a total of well under 2 grand. now thats cheap as chips.

Was thinking of going for this (have family in Florida, could have just popped over for a visit :))

Started going through the booking process just to see what the actual cost was and notice that everything is an extra :?

In-flight meals + £20
Checked in luggage + £20 per item x 2 = £40

Flight price now is £248.98, still a good deal, just not as exciting as it was at £188 :?

T'other half has just informed me that I can't go, so won't be :x
But good post OP

It's a common occurence now even with airlines like TOM.

Welcome fellow Dibber !

For others that don't frequent 'The Dibb' there are often last minute deals on flights in May, and September.

A couple of year's ago we paid £5.21 each way to Sanford - yes, we had to add taxes, meals, gof clubs but the final cost was £450 for 3 adults - bargain in my opinion!

I'm still holding out for prices to drop for the end of August this year - not willing to pay the £550+ they are asking at the moment!
