Car Hire from £19.28 for 3 days @ angusrentals.com

Fantastic price, but is pickup available from Girona Airport? Also angusrentals.com do not directly provide rental cars do they?
#2
If you dont want a car, then the Barcelona Bus goes direct to the city centre from Girona airport and then buy a 10 trip ,metro ticket for the buses and metro trains that can get you everywhere, for example if you need to catch a bus then a train then another bus to complete your journey, then you only pay once for the complete journey.Barcelona is a great place to visit, very easy to get around, but a bit cold this time of year.

Nice! Feeling like i wanna go away again soon. Has anyone actually flown to Girona or reus with ryanair before? How long does the coach trip take and is it expensive? I've heard it takes way over an hour depending on what airport you land, that's the only thing that put me off going to barca. Thanks guys

Ryanair is a nightmare to deal with if there are any issues and they do not have a helpdesk. We went to Reus and stayed overnight there because of a maintenance issue with an aircraft and Ryanair wouldn't honour any of the EU regulations regarding compensation. Avoid travelling with them. I'll never travel with Ryanair again.
#13
Girona bus takes about an hour to get to Barcelona, costs €21 return. I went a couple of weeks ago for El Clasico and the weather was around 10 degrees, it'll probably be colder in January/February.

Ryanair is ok, just make sure you don't make any mistakes when booking your flight. It costs a fortune to change your booking details (e.g. names of passengers) or flight details - it's cheaper to make a new booking!

+1 my sentiments exactly. ditto easyjet, my days of 'budget' airlines are over

I've only had positive experiences with Ryanair. I spelt my name wrong this year on a ticket, rang them up and they changed it free of charge. At the end of the day you are getting the chance to fly for £6. Where can you get to on a train for £6 these days?

"At the end of the day you are getting the chance to fly for £6"

There's extras; there's ALWAYS hidden extras with Ryanair. I'll bet £1* there's extras - and yes, I've flown Ryanair before ...

*first come first served - only one bet..
1 Like #17
Of course there are extras, you expect an airline to make a profit selling flights for £6?
If you battle through the minefield of added extra tickboxes, get yourself a prepaid mastercard (fair fx even paid me £7.50 for mine through quidco) to avoid card fees and invest in a hand luggage sized suitcase to avoid having to check a bag in you will only pay £6.

£6 - shall i repeat that, £6, no extras, £6

IMHO RyanAir are cowboys because:

http://www.hotukdeals.com/images/smilies/emoticon-shock.pngI have it on good authority their pilots play "who can make for the bumpiest landing"
http://www.hotukdeals.com/images/smilies/emoticon-shock.pnganything extra, they'll charge you for - even paying by debit card.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/images/smilies/emoticon-shock.pngAn Easyjet engineer I met recently expressed his concerns about RA's practices.

Well for people who dont wanna pay much they are amazing. Where else can you go to venice for £11 pounds return incl coach, Oslo £28 return inc coach, croatia £10.64 return, poland £20.02 return, Rome £41 return inc coach, Dublin £10 return?? I think people are just too snobby these days, if you follow the rules and get all the correct information regarding passport info and baggage allowance then your fine and get an amazing price. If you don't, then its not Ryanairs fault, its your own so no point moaning and blaming them when its you who is at fault.
And yes, I have flown all of these trips with ryanair except Rome which will be in Febuary, where else can you do all these cheap flights and I dont need to fly in style, I just wanna go to as many places as possible so for that ryanair are amazing! Nice find, thanks OP
#20
It's not about being snobby - it's about being told there's a special offer, then finding that it's the usual Ryanair "bargain". With EZjet, I get a fair deal - with Ryanair, I always wonder what new charge they'll have dreamed up before you get to the airport. Yes, you can get bargains with Ryanair, but most of the time, what looks like a bargain is not - but they hide the real costs, to make it difficult to compare prices with other operators. And they seem to take a pride in treating passengers like cattle. I have seen passengers threatened with removal from the plane, simply for daring to complain - politely - about not being told what was going on.

You like 'em, that's fine with me. Just be careful when you claim it's a bargain, that's all I ask.
#21
The fees are highlighted clearly on the site and they are so easily bypassed it's unreal and of course it depends on the ppl traveling and I wouldn't recommend them if your going away for a couple weeks as baggage will cost too much but for a few day break getting you from a to b at low low prices, they are unmatched. Simple as

I fly ryanair every week, admitted I know how the system works, I rarely pay more than 12 euro return all in. I have been caught out the odd time if "i" make a mistake, but there is nothing hidden if you do it properly.

They hide the real cost..........are you daft?...........when they advertise fly for £6 you can really fly for £6,nothing more to pay...............but if you are incapable of meeting the terms then please leave the seats available to those that can....and thousands do......after all it's not rocket science, but perhaps it's too complicated for you.
1 Like #24
Typical response from a Ryanair hater..........................Ryanair were advertising £6 flights........so for a family of 4 it would be £24.....................but when i tried to book 4 seats to tenerife during the school holidays it came to £540..............total rip-off merchants.......

They never say Fly for £6.

They say fly "From £6", as indeed this 'bargain' is described. And even then, you start being robbed the moment you realise you don't have a mastercard prepaid card / electron card/ whatever rare card is the Ryanair flavour of the month.

Yes, of course some folk get that price. No-one ever said otherwise - but the vast majority don't get anywhere near £6, and even those who THINK they have it for six pounds often realise that Ryanair don't speak the same language where money is concerned.

And no need to whine about it - their CEO has never denied his tricks, and doesn't need crawlers to back him up; he's the guy who intends to charge a pound to have a pee, and thinks it's funny. I'm no BA fan, but it's been shown many times that you can often fly cheaper by BA than Ryanair, and you get to an airport you've heard of.

When did you realise that you didn't have a mastercard prepaid card......did it come as a surprise?........i think you would be safer staying at home..........and as for speaking the wrong language where money is concerned,,they speak in euros........so it's even cheaper.

It makes me laugh when people actually believe all of O Learys rubbish about charging to use the loo, standing on flights etc etc. Free press?

On the same dates 3-6th feb you can fly to Barcelona for £60 return with easyJet.
Or you can fly to Girona for £5.20 return AND hire a car for £20 for 3 days and drive down the scenic coast. No brainer?
Or as you say fly with BA for £103.97... Definitely cheaper than Ryanair.

It's Ryan Air gang. You pay yer money you take your chances. The whole business model is based on people **** up and being fined. This is how they run the flights at such low prices. I have flown throughout out Europe several times for less than £30 a pop return. Was the fligh good - no they were all pretty rough. But I'm not fussy and my bank balance was very happy. If you don't want to play the game fly another airline. Easy

Last time I booked with Ryan from France the cost was 1euro. Paid through Halifax Electron got charged £1.50 to convert 1euro to 80p.

Will think twice before using the Ryan cowboy company again.

BTW their coffee is disgusting.

You are seriously moaning about getting a flight for less than £3? Try BA......
