looks like something they give you in the army

It's not much use if it's in the porter

I saw these for the first time today in Sainsburys priced £2.49 but cant get my head around why this sits on the shelves and not in a fridge? Looked lovely must say and was tempted

The chilli con carne one is lovely - got some from Tesco on offer a month or so back. Really nice and no need to refridgerate.

I have had these from Waitrose and they are really nice. The reason they can be kept in a cupboard is because the raw ingrediants are sealed into the airtight pouches then placed in pressure cookers to cook. still not sure how it works but it does - the chilli is my favourite - give them a go:thumbsup:

Stew, soup etc in a can has been around for decades. This is the same process in a bag, with better ingredients. As tinkerbella says, exclude air, seal in container, heat to kill bugs, store for years at room temperature.

If anyone is on the Diet Chef diet, most of these meals are the same as the ones you get there.

There are a few exceptions where these have more calories, but you just need to check.

If you were planning on trying Diet Chef in the New Year (if you can afford it), this might save a few pennies.....and ££££'s :santa:

maybe it's just me but whenever i hear the words 'look what we found' my brain completes it with 'down the back of the fridge'.

My local Aldi has these in at the moment...round about the same price.

Nice one, ta :)

These are actually really nice and better than most supermarket ready meals.

The bloke who brought this technique to the uk is the same bloke who introduced us (or me atleast) to tortilla chips with the Phileas Fogg range of snacks in the eighties.

Yup :) These meals are made by the Tanfield Food Company in Consett, they make meals for a some supermarkets, M&S and their own "look what we found" brand though I admit it's a daft name! The ingredients are of a high standard and they don't use any artifical preservatives. Usually cost a lot more than this so voted hot.

thanks for that - treats for next week to save me thinking about what to have for lunch

Very nice these are, I buy them on special then take them camping etc with me for a little change. Or do for a quick meal in the house.
