This seems like a good price, has anyone bought one? and if so can they offer any feedback?
#3
Stick with the Navigo on Ebuyer for same price !

Second that, Navigo would be a better choice.

Here is an update for the Looket G8. Seems to use the Sygic Drive software.

I have bought this one and the ebuyer one. They are pretty much the same ...the Misco Looket seems to acquire a signal much faster though. You can load tomtom on both also.
#8
This device is also WinCE 5 based means that whatever you can do to the Navigo (ooo-err) means you can do the same on this one (eg load up Tomtom and other navigation software etc)

this one doesn't have a USB port on it, as far as i can see. that's why i went for the ebuyer one.

How do you get TomTom software? And once you get it how do you use it? Just put it on a SDcard and insert it in the SatNav machine?

Why has this been expired? It's still £50

All the TomTom stuff is here

Thanks! I've given you +ive feedback.

Are you still looking for Table Tennis? It's £5 or less at Comet shops. :)

Their site (http://www.sysonchip.co.kr/eng/index.html) says, "External Ports Mini USB Connector for Active Sync & Battery Charging " for the G7 and "External Ports RS232 Serial Port " for the G8. Des.

Just got mine hacked to to the underlying WinCE :)

http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/1923/display1iv1.jpg

This device seems to load windows files directly from ROM image. This makes permanent hacking to WinCE difficult as a hard reset will put it back to the a virgin factory condition. Any registry changes which have made or installed software will be lost in a hard reset. The advantage is that it will be impossible to brick the unit

I used mortscript the freeware scripting utility with the following script:

if procExists G8MAIN.exe
kill G8MAIN.exe
Endif
sleep 200
if procExists NK.exe
kill NK.exe
Endif
sleep 1000
run explorer.exe

Essentially all this is doing is shutting down the customised system loader allowing the underlying OS to be seen. I just managed to do and have yet to see how complete the system OS is. In principle it should be possible to write use mortscript to install software as well so a complete windows reinstall could be quicly redone from even a hard reset :p
