The inevitable Play.com price match in response to Amazon and Tesco lowering their price for this boxset.
Go through Quidco and save a bit more, and if anyone has McDonalds codes kicking around the can also be used.

Yeah just realised Quidco is 8% at Tesco and 4% at Play.com.
My main reason for posting was so that people realise that they now have three companies to choose from if they decide to buy this, and also there must be a fair few people out there with McDonalds codes who would benefit further from this price match.

given the choice of the 3 companies, play.com are bottom of the list
they take longest to deliver stuff, and their packaging is attrocious, with boxsets often arriving battered and bruised

as much as I love play that does seem to be the case.

Play is good if u have McD's voucher + quidco

Amazon is good in general, but no cashback

Tesco probably be the best choice with the highest cashback rate and clubcard points

People from mainland Europe like me benefits from more deals. Tesco won't ship to us, but play.com and amazon will. So more alternatives are always welcome if you ask me.

Dont suppose anyone knows if and when this is coming out as the extended editions on Blue Ray? It will be the excuse I need to finally get a BR player!

i imagine the extended edition will be released when the hobbit is released in cinemas, when that is i dont know though.

play.com seems to be the better option if people are willing to do the £5 off trick in which case you will get the trilogy for 24.99

There's 8% TopCashBack on Play.com till tonight.

Oh, it gives you £1 off any purchase over £8.95. I think you need to go via Play.com/MCD so not sure if it will work with the cashback sites.

To be fair the site is called "hotukdeals" so anything that extends beyond our shores has got to be a bonus for Europe etc.....lol

Decent price, still hoping for a price drop as this will be my third copy of each film.

Anyone got this yet? just wondered what the quality was like?

People should boycott buying this marketing ********.

The transfer isn't even good.

They will release again with the extended editions and then claim it has "improved transfer" mainly because they done a deliberate half assed job first time around.

Hot for price relative to other retailers but not for value of money. £10 per film is still what I would consider expensive, even for a blu ray.

I am not entirely sure why people would buy this either, they will be releasing a better version later, surely people can wait and buy the version they should have released in the first instance ie excellent picture and audio quality and extended editions?

Never understood why people buy stuff like this, or boxsets for a series of films that are going to have more films released (harry potter) or indeed DLC for Xbox/PS3 games. People literally will buy anything and are too afraid to boycott companies that are exploiting their position. Some people do have more money than sense!

It's a long wait! The extended versions aee not due to get released until The Hobbit is in Theatres and thats not scheduled until end 2012...

Im boycotting buying this version. its complete cheek to be expected to buy both. Anyway for anyone planning to buy this add it to the basket with a pre-order game (gt5 for example) then apply code PLANW10. It will knock £5 off the blu-ray making it £24.99. Then when you receive it just cancel your pre-order. Iv done this plenty of times and I promise you it wors a treat!
