How, in anyway, could this ever be considered cold? £1 for any film is good, let alone one of the greatest (in many people's opinions) of all time. I expect this to be hot again very soon...

Of course it's more than likely that anyone who is a fan of this will already have it by now but that's not the point.

been to the smiths in Basingstoke and no sign of it and the chap said he had not heard of the deal so maybe just in a particular store?

Objectively this is a total steal, but really if you are going to bother owning the film you may as well pay a little more for the extended version. It's not just a bunch of extra scenes tacked on to sell you a new version of the DVD it's the defacto version of the film, plus the special features are as good as anything that has ever been included on a DVD.

The branch I went to (Swindon) even had a sign on the shelf advertising it.

I honestly hated these films, almost as much as I hated The Matrix.

Still voted hot as it's a great price for ANY blockbuster DVD movie film thing

One of the best films ever. Definitely a very hot deal.

I've literally just watched this (a few minutes ago) and it's great apart from the most dragged out god awful ending. Just as you think there's an ending round each corner it seems to go on a bit further in the soppiest way.

Great deal no matter what!
But if you're interested in the whole "how did they do that?" get the 4-disc version and take time off!
I spent £25 on each as they came out and saw it last Christmas for £25 for all twelve - gutted!

Not really. In fact, they didn't include the ending from the book.
