whizzkid, you seem to have an obsession with voting cold when only a few pence are involved. I hope you're not turning into a serial cold voter. Newsflash mate HMV according to edi was tracking at 10% on Quidco!

Not at all, simply that it's hardly a hot deal if it's cheaper or almost the same price everywhere else! If everyone is gonna post dvds/games etc that can be bought either cheaper or the same price, HUKD will simply be swamped with every single dvd going.

As it happens I've voted lots of your dvds hot, but only where a comparative saving has been made over other retailers.

Personally I think this is well worth £11.99 and a great deal wherever you chose to buy it..voted hot:thumbsup:

A hot deal to a lot of people is a far lower price than anywhere else !

I agree, but some shops reduce their prices in sync with their rivals in order to compete for business. In this case HMV, PLAY, UWISH are all selling this for around £12. Just becuse one isnt significantly cheaper than the other IMO doesn't make it a bad deal (compared to ZAVVI who are selling it for £49.99)

Not saying it is a bad deal , a real HOT deal though is usually on something other than DVD's which track somewhat closer to each other .

Now this is a HOT deal :

channel 4 NOW.....

I prefer the Extended editions, well worth the extra money.
The one on Channel 4 now is the Theatrical Cut.

Must stop watching it on TV as I want to watch my extended editions again when I'm on holiday soon.

Where's the deal ? It's the usual price. Cold !

Ice cold!

To pay money for the short versions of these epics is ridiculous when there are directors cut versions out there that (i) add around 30 minutes to each film, (ii) stay more true to the original literature, and (iii) can also be had cheaply.

This would be like buying the heavily cut version of Friends that are shown on sky when the proper DVDs are only £1 more. You'd have to be off your head to find this hot (IMO) unless you simply didn't know about the directors cuts.

Longest winded tale of returning a piece of lost property I have ever seen. And there's no car chases in it.

Can you give a link to any of the cheap directors cut versions as the only one I could find is over double the price of this? :? If I had to watch Friends the heavily cut version would be more preferable! ;-)

I would wait until the Directors cuts fall in price as your currently looking at paying around £26 for all 3 in the 12 disc edition.
