Got me a £10 Amazon voucher so would be £19.97. Hot.

No extended version = no buy. What's the point having a full collection when it's not even the full amount. The majority of reviews seem to agree with me.
#3
How about for the extras - a lot of the extras on the theatrical editions aren't included on the extended versions. Depends on how completist you are/
#4
Think i'll wait for the extended version.
#5
IS there a realse date for the extended versions?
#6
Hot! Like everyone would like the extended versions but still amazing films at a good price. I'm gonna wait for it to drop more though.

Nice, but going to wait for them to hit the £17.99 mark like all the others eventually do, simply as I wouldnt get round to watching them for 6 months anyway!
#8
Voted hot, but it won't tempt me to buy...

Can see this set being less than £20 in a month or two based on the bad reviews and feedback from fans...

How is this another deal when it's the same price as the one posted from Amazon earlier - surely a note on that deal would have sufficed?
#10
I haven't voted because its not a hot deal.

The fact that they haven't released the extended versions is a disgrace and a way to make money by getting people to buy it again (well some)

There has been a lot of negative feedback about the theatrical versions being released and the extended wont be far behind now. So even if you wanted the theatrical I would wait until the extended are released because this will plummet to below £10 when the extended hit the shelves.

very good deal, voted hot

Just watched the trilogy in blu-ray - truly amazing especially if you haven't seen them for a few years!

Would say though also I really wanted to see the extended editions, so I feel like Phil1979 says the price will come down again once EE boxset comes out.

Hot for now though

good deal on a bad print

Alright, bad news first. The Fellowship of the Ring hobbles out of the Black Gate of Mordor with a pudgy 1080p/VC-1 transfer

DONT BUY YET

Apparantly they will be released in 2012 so their is some time to wait for the extended versions
#15
Not all of the films are best viewed in their extended versions.
#16
good price HOT but a no go for me, waiting on those extended versions
suspended#17
extended version it is!!
Thanks for the info guys

Extended all the way for me as well.

So we now have 3 retailers who have dropped this set to sub £30, sales must be well below expectations.
Even now at £3.33 per disc it's still not tempting, they will be giving these away at this rate soon, lol.

I agree with this, the extended versions seem much more 'chaptery' and do not flow as well narratively. I like the extra footage and think there should be a more definitive inbetween version that would nail it. Either way this set isn't up to par so I'll wait on the extended one which I would hope has the theatrical versions included (or branched at least).

I heard this christmas :?

They will be. The original release was eant to be 2012 but thye have been getting hammered by unhappy people for bringing the theatrical versions out, so they have brought the release forward.

I heard it will be November in time for the Xmas shopping lists.
