excellent value for this box set if you want the extended version and don't want to shell out for the blu ray later in the year

This really is a trilogy that lends it's self to BD though.. Don't get me wrong, I bought this set when it came out, but I'll still be buying the Blu later this month.. Personally, if you don't have this already, I'd suggest waiting for the BD, the viewing experience is everything with these movies..

Can you put the price in the title as well please?

i got this for £5 from virgin megastores in newcastle when the did an opening special, this was back in 2004 i think.

never watched them, never will now - might check out the blurays when they get this cheap though.

Hated those films, over the top rubbish! I ask you, goblins running around with trolls and talking/walking trees, no limits on the levels of ridiculous!! Great price though, so heat added.

News just in:
Sometimes things in films aren't based on real life.

You could say the same about Star Wars, Batman, 300, Alien, Inception, Transformers, etc...
Cinema would be a very dull place if everything was based on accurate depictions of real life.

You're limiting yourself to a very small collection then, the vast majority of moves are 'over the top' in some kind of way, as are books and as were stories told in caves and around fires 10000 years ago. 'Over the top' is just how stories are told. Is Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' rubbish because its not a photograph?

It could easily be a documentary based on my local town center on a fri/sat night, and thats just the women!

I dreamed that I wrote the books on which these films were based.
Turns out I was Tolkien in my sleep.
