Lords of Xulima is an original Fantasy RPG set on the mythical continent of Xulima, where Gods and humans once walked side by side. Become the Herald of the Gods and travel to an uncharted land to fulfill your mission of restoring balance in the known world.

I checked my local Game yesterday in the hope of finding one of these gaming bargains that people keep posting on here and this was the best I could find so here's my contribution. It was the only thing that's actually cheaper at retail than digitally. There was one copy in store but it's also in stock online.

I quite liked the look of this RPG when it was on sale on Steam recently for £7.49, but for £4.99 you can get the collector's edition which includes all DLC - that's the deluxe edition digital content (Special Digital Rewards DLC) plus the Talisman of Golot expansion. So that's everything for less money than just the base game has ever been on Steam.

Gone!

Was it the big box collector's edition or the dvd case deluxe edition that you managed to get? What physical items were included?

I picked-up the deluxe (game+dlc) version from a GAME store for £1.99 - and it's fine but there's a catch.

The disc version has no means of updating itself (it's 1.7-odd wheras Steam/GoG is 2.0+)

Good news is no DRM that I can find tho - doesn't even require the disc once installed...

p.s. yes, I and others have emailled the developers but they don't reply so I guess options are limited (pirating the GOG version seems the best route perhaps?)

I didn't actually buy it in store - I came home to price check and then ordered it online - but it was a standard sized DVD case with the Collector's edition, as per the photo in this listing, so I'd assume no physical items except for maybe a manual. All items listed were digital anyway (digital deluxe items + DLC). I believe the big box collector's edition was for Kickstarter backers only, as even the developer's store only offers Steam keys now.

Wait a second... does this mean that the retail version doesn't activate on Steam? That's rare in this day and age! I was expecting a Steam key in the case when my retail copy arrives. It's very odd that they would continue to support it with patches (the latest is 2.1, which added new languages in March) on Steam and GoG but not support the retail version.

Currently on the GOG sale. £4.19 for the base edition. This deal is better if you want the deluxe edition as it would be more on GOG.

There are some great deals on GoG at the moment - I've been looking more at the games that are only available on GoG as I try to get everything on Steam where I can, so there's Planescape Torment and Neverwinter Nights for £2.79 each - but yeah this is cheaper on GoG than Steam by about £3.

So on Steam it's currently 50% off, so £7.49 for the base game, £8.49 with the Talisman of Golot DLC or £9.19 for the Digital Deluxe edition. The DLC is 99p on its own, so the cheapest way to get everything would be to get the Digital Deluxe edition and then the DLC separately for a total of £10.18.

However, on GoG it's £4.19 for the base game, £6.29 for the Digital Deluxe edition. Only thing is they don't seem to have the DLC at all.

I'm still pretty confused as to what editions of this game exist. There's the full Collector's Edition which comes in a black box like the one displayed and includes a big box, manual, poster and a couple of books which I assume was the Kickstarter edition you mentioned. Then there's the Deluxe Edition which comes in a dvd case and includes manual, poster and the dlc but has artwork on the cover.

So is there a Collector's Edition 'light' or were GAME just selling the Deluxe Edition and made a mistake with the listing on their website?

The Deluxe Edition is available for less than £4 on eBay by the way.

This isn't the Deluxe Edition as the Deluxe Edition doesn't include the DLC and the copy I saw in store definitely said Collector's Edition and was the version pictured, which is different artwork to the retail Deluxe Edition. So, yes, there must be two Collector's Editions - the original one for Kickstarter backers and now this one that's on Steam and retail that includes the DLC.

There's no Steam Code in the box - in fact there's no codes at all which means to 'prove' you owned it, they'd probably want you to send them a picture of you holding it with the newspaper/some custard perhaps?

Well - IF they replied to people, which they don't - hence I think it's time to 'seek out' the GoG release...
