The rate this has been dropping in price, surely another £10 or £20 will come off before Christmas?

I am basing this on its constant price drop and the days of shops waiting to start sales after Christmas ended years ago. Even HMV instore dropped the price of the DVD set

I get that but this is only this price because of the walkers 10% code. Most places are selling this way over £100

Great price!

Does anyone have a spare 10% walkers code?

I don't think codes are generated now.

Thanks.

how do you think you get old films on blu-ray ?
they transfer the image
#27
its just a shame that the UK packaging is pathetic compared to the US version, this version is just all the normal box sets in a very cheap looking cardboard box. none theless, its a great deal, although im still waiting for a new boxset or just order the american one

Yes they were. They were broadcast in HD in the states.

Most idiotic thing I've seen all day. Any content captured, even for very old films, is of a higher quality than anything you'll see today even in HD. And yes as stated above, they transfer the image across and adapt it for HD viewing.

It still makes me chuckle when people get caught up in all this high def marketing bull.

on reading you condescending comment about being idiotic (which i find offensive) i googled to find out if they were all shot in HD, they were.
But you are idiotic to say that any content was all shot in higher quality than HD, the fact is that films are shot mainly in 35mm film that does have the quality when transferred whilst up until very recently most broadcast TV series were not! if your theory had any foundation the football greatest moments programs we like to watch & Doctor who original series DVDs would all have wonderful clarity, not

Someone said to quote on price not series. How can you do that? The series is crap, hence the price is high. I'll save you all the money.... They're all dead, that's it, no story.

Actually you are pretty ignorant it seems. Old films were shot on film and have been digitised by scanning. But modern televisual content often goes straight to digital (lots of UK TV for example). If the camera wasn't HD, then it won't be available in HD. So to say any content is higher quality than HD is just ignorant.

As for Lost, I believe it was shot on 35mm film so should look great on Blu Ray assuming the transfer is decent.

Think you missed the point, if u dont like it fine but when referring to the price, we mean can you get it cheaper
And you cant, if u think its crap and wouldnt buy it, fine, not over priced beacuse you say so, thousands of people will buy this because its the best deal yet and they enjoy the series. If you hate it why bother checkin the thread other than to troll?
And i think you got the ending wrong as well? I got a whole different meaning to you!!
#38
great price, cheers OP.

The best bit is the guy saying the first few seasons are not in HD.. haha
#39
£80.96 for a few Blu Ray Discs sounds very expensive to me (even if it is the cheapest available).

Though I suppose as long as people are happy to pay this much, the sellers will be more than happy to continue to charge this much.

Don't suppose anyone have a spare 10% walkers code?
