For those unsure by this it is a really deep game. 60+ hours gameplay.

Better than FF13 thats for sure, best RPG i've played in a long time
#3
Ah crap, got it for £9.95 a couple of days ago.

£5 in Currys last year! not a good game - never understood the fun in turn-based rpg.

Quality game, well worth it for this price!

After a decent rpg, was debating ff13 despite the reviews !

Is this FF esk ? Turn based, cinematic etc. ?
#7
It's really good and way better than Final Fantasy XIII!! It's really cinematic and has a great cast of characters! Look out for Jansen.. he's really funny.

ive played this, its not bad at all but 4 discs is a ridiculous length for a game. and i cant invest 60 hours into any game.

This is turn based. Final fantasy 13 is sorta turn based; but they changed it from past games; it depends on your stats whether or not you attack at a more rapid pace. This is somewhat more conventional; FF definetly more cinematic (it has beautiful cutscenes and a great story) but the gameplay can be abit stale, confusing (easy to learn; hard to master) but it has some good moments.

Each to their own, I love the strategy of static turn based games, can't get on with these new active systems in FF12 and 13.

I bought the HK version of this game because it was released a month before the UK version and in English.

Deep story and good old-fashioned J-RPG gameplay.

It doesn't take 20 hours before it starts to gets good like some other games *cough*FF13*cough cough*

Good game - not played it all through yet (got stuck on some bosses - they look quality).

Don't play while you're tired though (like FF, these games with the certain type of music send me off to sleep - only to wake up with the character running into a wall!! ha!!)

This game is odd in that the early bosses are tougher than the later ones. The worms near the very start were an absolute pain but I don't really recall any bosses after that which gave me too much of a hard time, not even really the immortal with level 99 characters.

I just wish someone would release another classic turn based JRPG, it seems everyone has moved to the action RPG style which I just can't get on with.

Good game - if you like RPGs. It took me around 70hrs to complete. Good voice acting too. I remember a really frustrating bit thatrequired you to take part in some sort of ceremony that involved moving your character in certain ways: I nearly ended up smashing my Xbox to pieces as I couldn't understand what i was supposed to be doing. In the end I Googled it (never like doing that: but needs must where the devil drives...) Silly money for so much gameplay hours. HOT.:)

It's produced by Mistwalker, which is headed by the guy who created the Final Fantasy series so absolutely. It's very similar in structure to older FF games - random battles, have to find a save point to save, etc.

I enjoyed it, but it does drag in places (expect 60 hours, and it's on 4 discs!). If you're after the achievements as well, check a guide as it's possible to miss a couple of them and have to play the game from the beginning again :S

Well worth £8 if you're a fan of the genre but it won't convert anyone.
