A detective investigates a mysterious motel room, which acts as a portal to alternate universe.

A mysterious event at the Sunshine Motel caused ordinary things in Room 10 to transform into indestructible objects with extraordinary powers. Detective Joe Miller (Peter Krause) discovers the dangerous potential of these objects when his daughter becomes lost in the room. His only help of saving her is to find The Key, but shadowy figures will stop at nothing to keep it - and the other objects - for themselves.

IMDb: 8.3/10

Most people in the UK probably haven't heard of this, but its a good watch :) there's 6 episodes in total i think, roughly 45 mins each.

Very under rated series. Was well made and had "extended" twilight zone feel to it. Heat.

Is was a fantastic series and well worth the £6.49 if you haven't seen it yet. It's a shame that it was just made as a single mini series, as I would have definitely kept watching it.

A full series was planned (hence the ending) but it did poorly in the US, far to intelligent for them so it was never picked for the full run...

Thought it was ok, but doesnt end properly noting the above - wouldnt watch it again to be honest unless they bothered to do a full series. Not voted as not sure its a bargain for an open ended short series....

Very smart interesting show. Worth it for the price. Shame it didn't go for longer.

Never heard of this before, but I am VERY tempted after watching the trailer & reading the generally positive reviews! have some heat

A truly fantastic mini-series for me. That being said, 6 episodes is a series in the UK. I personally felt okay about the ending knowing that there was going to be no more, it seemed finished enough.

Not like Flash Forward. Boo.

Me and SWMBO both really enjoyed this series too, shame it got cancelled.

I have never heard of this but I like the sound of it and you guys rate it so I have ordered :)

It's a little bit like the first series of Heroes, so if you liked that, you'll like this. However, as others mention, the ending may disappoint, as it leaves things a bit open-ended for a subsequent series which never came.

this comment is as cryptic as the tv show

I love this was very well done, its a pitty that our friends across the pond are too thick to enjoy anything intelligent, pity they put money into TV, comedy that is not funny and so predictable crime shows.

Commas and full stops are your friends. Use them now and again. Make them feel wanted! :|

Great show, don't know if i would recommend it to anyone though as like me you'll love it and be left wanting more episodes to come but as everyone else has mentioned it got canned, shame.

I didn't even realize it was supposed to be more episodes. Thought it worked well with just the 6, and the ending wasn't too bad either.

I liked this did anyone else think it was possibly linked with silent hill 4 the room in anyway?

This is a great show. According to wikipedia it might have been the inspiration behind Warehouse 13 which is a similar show all about artefacts each of which has a unique power/ability.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Warehouse_13 for the full link but in summary:

Executive-produced by Jack Kenny and David Simkins,[3] the dramatic comedy from Universal Media Studios has been accused of "borrowing" much from the 1980s television series Friday the 13th: The Series[4][5][6] and has been described as "part The X-Files, part Raiders of the Lost Ark and part Moonlighting."[7] Syfy President Dave Howe has suggested that it was derived from a 2006 miniseries The Lost Room.[8] The series premiere was Syfy's third largest debut to date, garnering 3.5 million viewers.[1][9] It also has a near 50% female viewership.[10] The first six episodes were all among the top 10 highest rated series episodes on Syfy. Episode 6, "Burnout", drew 4.4 million viewers, setting the record for Syfy's highest rated show.[11] The second season of Warehouse 13 began July 6, 2010.[12] On October 5, 2010, Warehouse 13 was renewed for a third season of 13 episodes.[13]

And by comparison, Warehouse 13 is quite trite in practise. They turned it into Saturday afternoon style light entertainment and trivialised the really interesting artefacts that could have been amazing. I had such high hopes for Warehouse 13 but it missed the mark.

The Lost Room though, amazing.
