I reserved a 60L tank, phoned before leaving to check it was in stock and was told it would be by the till when I got there. To cut a long story short, it wasn't and the manager was so embarrased he let me buy the 64L version (£120) of this tank for the same price that I reserved the other one for (£55). It's a fantastic tank! The filter is so quiet.

in order to use this tank you need better filter other wise you will need to clean it every 2 weeks and when you do this you have to spend lot of time for the fresh water ( at least you need to keep water in different place about 2 days ) also heather is not great its old type one , so when you do this hot water tropical fished will die easily where cold ones wont die

Don't be put off with freshwater tropicals, just as easy to keep as cold water fish and not as messy. When i first kept fish 20 years ago i had to get books from the library but these days anything you need to know can be found quickly on the internet.

Good tropical fish to start with
Live bearers
Guppy, easy to keep and will breed easily although they will eat their own young. Females are drab looking so just keep males.
Platy, easy to keep same as guppy
Sword tails, look like a platy but with a sword like tail.

These are easy to keep and good starter fish.
Do not add fish until the tank has been running fo 3/4 days then add 2 fish per week until fully stocked.
Do not over feed. Better to miss a feed than give an extra feed
Change 10% of water each week
Every 2 weeks give filter sponges a rinse in the water you removed from the tank, never clean the filter with tap water

Use a water treatment to remove chlorine from tap water, water should be same temp as tank water but does not need to exact, dip your hand in tank water, then in the clean water to feel the temp.

Problems
Power cuts/heater breaks, dont panic tropical fish can survive lower temps as long as the drop is gradual and not a sudden change. If the power is going to be off more than a few hours boil water on a gas cooker until it is hot but not boiling. Fill pop bottles and place in tank to keep some heat. Wrap tank in towels.

The larger the tank the longer it will take to cool down.

Just looked at the list of tropical fish you can have.

DO NOT put a Male Fighting fish with Guppys or any other fish with a fancy tail in a tank this small, not unless you want to be fishing out dead guppys that is.

bRILLIANT

WILL IT WORK WITH COD?
#13
Whales have calves,
Cats have kittens,
Bears have cubs,
Bats have bittens,
Swans have cygnets,
Seals have puppies,
But guppies just have little guppies
#14
Pets at home give bad advice! They'll tell you this tank is suitable for goldfish, it's not! It's a small tank and okay for a few guppies or fry.
Save your money and go 4ft or go home, my filters hold more water than the tank.
#15
No need for a 4ft tank most people don't have the space for one. 120 litres is what you should be looking as a good starter tank, these can be as small as 2ft wide by 1.5 x 1.5 ft. Look at litres not length of tank

Don't know anything about fishtanks but saw this in b&m this week for £12.99
