The trouble with these places is they never have the films that you want when you want them . I tried Mymoviestream recently , I gave up after waiting for my preferences to come in plus they took money from my account when it was supposed to be free . I also tried Lovefilm last year , they were rubbish .

Disagree, Lovefilm have been fantastic for me, had 30 films in my list, all the high priorities have been sent already.

Hi capesurfline, welcome to HUKD. Apologies for the cold votes and no reasons left. It might be because there are quite a few codes to get 3 months free on here, without having to pay a penny.

E.g. Click the Lovefilm deals link in the original post, and you'll see some if you scroll down.

If they have improved from my time with them then I applaud them & maybe its time to try them again .

I have had no probs with Tesco's DVD service yet, and they are powered by Lovefilm. I don't know whether it is a fair comparison though as Tesco's customer service is good. Lovefilm's, as a single entity, can only be taken at face value from the copious amount of scathing reviews i've read.

I think LF have been taken over and the customer service has improved from when all the old reviews written.

this is only good if u have a lovefilm free trial coming to an end to be fair, cos they might not offer this to me in 2 months time etc,

Been with Lovefilm on the 3 month free for a few weeks now and they are awesome. You get all your priority titles straight away, I have 6 out of my 32 on my list and they all came first. Mega fast turnaround as well. I post and the very next day another 2 are on their way. So Post back Monday, new dvds arrive Wednesday.

I can't see how they can do any better.

I totally agree. Been on the trial for around 1 month now and i am very very impressed with Lovefilm. They have a very efficient turnaround as said above.

They always offer you another 3 months for the price of 1 when you try and cancel if you phone up, they even offer it for £9.99 (2 discs at a time, unlimited) if you still say no.

Ive been with Lovefilm since January. I signed up to an offer where you were supposed to get 4 free Vue Cinema tickets. Both myself and a colleague never received said tickets, with some lame excuse about not following the t&c to the letter....they reckon we didnt immediately load our list with 50 titles or something like that, although we both think that we did.
That said, despite my annoyance on this, on the whole Ive been quite impressed with Lovefilm. I have since paid for 6 months advance at a lower rate. I did have some trouble with my account when I upgraded to a movie+game combo type account, loaded it full of xbox360 games all at high priority, lowered my films to low priority, and found it was at least 3 weeks and a couple of emails questioning it, before I received any games. Since then though, they have been perfect for me.

Either Lovefilm have improved dramatically in the last month, or i've been very lucky. I'm suddenly being flooded by every new release I put on my list!

Effectively I've been with them since Feb 2005 and am still listed as an ex-Sainburys tariff which is £13.97 for 3 discs unlimited rather than £15.99, which is nice :) I don't really want to rock the boat by trying to cancel as i'm bound to loose my cheap tariff, though in reality it would be a great help getting 3 months free as i'm pretty hard up at the moment.

If you've just had three months for free and you like the service, then 3 months for the price of one is an excellent deal. Think of it more as SIX MONTHS for the price of one! Haha, think it's harsh that people are voting it cold, I've voted hot and hope they offer me the same thing when I call up to cancel in july :)

I signed up to the 3 months free a couple of weeks ago and it has been great. I sent back 2 dvds on Monday, and new ones arrived this morning. Most of the dvds on my list are high priority, and they're all at least a year old, so I couldn't say if the priority thing works or not. I think there are 2 medium on my list though, and I've not recieved either of those yet.

Thanks for the tip about calling, I'll definately be doing that when my free subscription ends.
