  surprised no one seems to have mentioned this, but it sounds like you need xbox live gold to watch on your 360.
  
  can't be sure because a lot of the gubbins on the lovefilm site is out of date - don't think they ran a 'lovefilm instant' only service till recently.

  Well as I said maybe use the CashBack sites and sign up for netflix and lovefilm and get some CashBack and two months of free content ( stagger them ) if your a new customer
  We found Netflix better but cross more
  Crackle is free though a wee tad outdated but I quite like it as I'm past 30 ( and a bit more too )

  On your PS3/Xbox change your DNS settings to manual and
  
  Primary DNS Server : 208.122.23.22
  Secondary DNS Server: 208.122.23.23
  
  Might sign you back out, just sign back in and then you'll be good to go. Much better selection of TV/Films.
