#3

#4
I like this line of thinking...

this also works for the smaller Lowepro Slingshot 200AW
this may be better for those who just have an slr and a lens and wish to carry a rain mac, bottle of water and a mars bar!

this works out at £43.19 unsure of the validity of the cashback voucher
heres a size comparison

I want something I can carry a DSLR two lenses and a camcorder - anyone used the 200AW? What's the space above the camera section like on either?
#8
Considering it has to be secure enough to potentially hold £1000s worth of equipment, I don't think it's that expensive at all.

I wouldn't spend hundreds on a DSLR, lenses and other equipment then throw it in a £20 bag...

Voted hot.

I've got the 200 and find it a good size. I have canon eos20 with 2 lenses and a small panasonic camcorder (one that takes SD cards) and there's plenty of space for it all, with filters and batteries.

The top comparetment should be good enough but the only way to be sure is to take it into a store to try it!

I haven't the time to get to a Jessops to try it. I think I'll buy the 300 and cross fingers (I always end up carrying toddler stuff in every bag I own...)

Here's the T&Cs in case anyone's interested - multiple purchases are OK

Both work out roughly the same price as you can't use the BAGS20 and the LowePro cashback as the code takes it to below the £50 minimum limit.

Oh well, ordered both for collection as my local doesn't have them anyway.

OK bought the 300AW today and its way too big for my needs - the 200AW should be fine so I'll swap it.

One concern though, its OK to pull the strap over your shoulder and unzip to get at the camera but don't open further as the lenses are likely to fall out. From that POV not much different to a standard camera bag which would allow you to flip open the lid and choose camera and lens.

Hmmm I think I'm talking myself out of this and back to a conventional bag...

Have you had a look at Lowpro bags from AJ purdy?
http://www.ajpurdy.co.uk/#403X0

I got the Lowepro nova 4AW thrown in for free, as part of my camera deal :), but it might be too big for what you're looking for. They're also advertising the 20% off £50 lowepro bags (promo 1 june to 31st August).

Thanks for that. The Nova looks like a perfectly adequate Jessop brand one I already own that's travelled the world with me. But its got my film Dynax system in it and if I take it out I'll have to find somewhere to store it ;) hence the need for a new bag. Then there's the big aluminium case bought in Mong Kok with all the rest of the film gear etc.

I think I'll go back to something like the Nova and make sure its over £50.

great bag for aircraft hand luggage as it weighs about a Kilo so I managed to get my d2h , d200 , 80-200 , 17.55 ,1.7 converter and laptop all in it - it was a squeeze but just under flybe's 10kg

and I use the 200aw for genearl use

Last night I picked up a Slingshot 100AW from my local store.

Instore Price: £69.99
Web Price: £38.99
Minus BAGS20 Code: £31.19

The look on the young chaps face when he realised how much I was paying: Priceless.

Sling bag available at amazon for £33.88. Free delivery (as it's sold by Amazon and not 3rd party).

Unfortunately the 20% off voucher from Lowepro is only valid for purchases over £50.
