You will have to rely on EE to unlock it for you, but they will probably make you wait for 6 months.

There is currently no cheap way to unlock the latest Lumia phones, unless they are locked to the Vodafone network (codes to unlock from Voda are available on ebay).

EE do not make PAYG customers wait anymore, they let them do it straight away although they still do charge for it.

Don't buy from EE - they won't unlock it for 6 months. They should unlock it but will give you the run around. This 6 month period is only for contract customers (as informed by EE CS) but still they will make you work for it. Also you will wait hours trying to get through to speak to anyone. The EE shops won't help you much either. So best trying to get it unlocked via their online service...I wish I had not bought my phone from EE. Have left them now.

PS: Trying to get it unlocked elsewhere is expensive. So best to buy elsewhere if you can.

Just remember that everything from EE comes with free Computrace spyware which cannot be removed.

Best value Lumia on the market, but I still think 830 is the best overall.
Heat added for the deal :D

I had to wait 6 months to get my one year old phone unlocked with EE. They just kept giving me the run around, telling me it had been escalated, two weeks later they had no record of my call. Avoid if you are counting on them unlocking it in a timely manner.

Yes, but the price is still quite high on comparison to the 735. The 735 is a much better phone on every level.

535 will do better at £79.99 which I'm sure it will hit in a few weeks time.

On Android yes, but not on Windows Phone. EE simply don't have the system access that they have on Android. Even the pre-installed My EE app...etc can be uninstalled on WP.

Would the fitbit flex be tied to the exact phone you buy with this offer or can it be used in another phone too?

and they come unlocked.

Are you sure they come unlocked? I've read some are, some aren't from CPW.

I read that EE put Computrace on all of their phones but if you know better that I accept that. From what I read Computrace is exceedingly hard if not impossible to remove and that simply uninstalling it does not work but, once again, if you know otherwise I am prepared to be corrected. Can you back up what you say please?

Posting something you have read as fact without proof is misleading, not helpful.

Just googled computrace and it is there and non-removable without root on android, and if it exists on WP then I don't see how you could remove it? The thread below is about an s5 but the principle of collection of data etc still applies...

anyone can confirm? thanks in advance

Rang up EE after carphonewarehouse wanted £179! Got it got £109, gonna use this as a stop gap to replace my note 3 until all the new flagship phones come out.

Does anyone know if these come with a wireless qi charging shell? I can see them for sale, but cant see non qi shells for sale, so assuming there is a possibility they might have one already? If anyone has one can they check the back cover to see if there are connectors on the top and bottom?

Android and iOS are easy systems for carriers to manipulate and add software to, as they release APIs to allow this.

Microsoft have locked their mobile operating systems down, making it much harder to do. This will change with windows 10, but for now windows 8.1 will be less likely to have EE software that you can't remove.

Perhaps simply asking EE if they put Computrace on this phone or not would clear this up.
