Providing big screen bangs for your buck, the Luxor 401080 is a bargain 40" TV!

FULL 1080P HD ON A BIGGER SCREEN FOR LESS

At the heart of this impressive Luxor TV is a Full HD 1080p, LED backlit screen. Full HD 1080p resolution gets the very best from Blu-ray and other sources and gives lifelike detail and stunning realism. With an LED backlit panel, the 401080 also gives an impressive contrast ratio. Commanding strong brightness, too, this Luxor 40" LED TV boasts a crisp and bright picture with deep blacks and excellent grey scale. Typical of good quality LED sets, there's also truer realism and a greater sense of depth. Thanks to a suite of noise reduction processors the picture is also clean and free from distracting digital distortion.

SOUND THAT'S MADE TO MEASURE

Boasting a 5-band equalizer, it's possible to tune the sound to suit your tastes and room acoustics. For a more spacious sound, a 'surround sound' function is also included. With the inclusion of an analogue audio out via headphone socket and digital coaxial output, it's also easy to upgrade the sound by adding a soundbar.

TWIN HDMI AND USB

Coming equipped with two HDMI sockets, you can connect up your HD sources, such as Blu-ray player and HD set-top box, with ease. Another handy connection is the USB socket. In addition to accepting photos and audio files, this is also compatible with many video files, including MKV, MP4 and AVI. In addition to this, you'll also find SCART and VGA PC sockets included. For private listening there's also a headphone socket. Finally, a coaxial digital output lets you plug the TV into a digital audio system for enhanced sound.

To see the bigger picture at a smaller price, check out the Luxor 401080.

I've had a look around mate, reviews seem sparse, I personally think it's a good price for a second TV, however if people can find the Panasonic from Tesco for £20 more that's the real bargain.

The guarantee here is a nice added extra for what I think is a good price for a 40, unknown brands seem to get a lot of stick, I paid £199(?) for the Blaupunkt 3D TV for the boys bedroom, the 3D is equally as impressive as my LG in the front room.

Got it on Black Friday for £150. Good quality. But it's only 50hz so won't be good for some people. I will only recommend this if you don't have more cash.

Only having 2x HDMI ports is a downside for a lot people.

Bought it on the Black Friday as an xmas gift. Looks good and as far as I can see the guarantee is a big bonus. RS are great for customer service too

Just remember people, the term 'you get what you pay for' becomes even more relevant when talking about TVs..

Great deal. Will be branded product be twice as good? No chance. Great value here. If people want to pay for a name on the front of their telly that's their choice

That is indeed true, but as long as your expectations aren't too high and that you read and understand the specs it is only £180 and for that you get a five year guarantee so worry free TV ownership for 5 years works out at £36 per year, £3 per month or £69p per week!

I wouldn't want it sitting in the lounge as a main TV but for a kids playroom / bedroom I doubt you could go far wrong.

A little naive, but it all depends what you want from a TV.

Hello, I cannot find the answer to this in the spec. Does this have an audio in for PC channel? It specifically states it does not have ACR, so if you plugged it in via HDMIm, you would need a seperate sound output. I want this as my 2nd PC monitior, my primary is connected via HDMI and outputs sound via ACR. My second monitor is via a DVI/VGA adapter, and AUX cable to PC so that way I get sound on 2nd monitior if U choose to use that monitor only.

Many thanks

Great value for a 40" Full HDTV and the five year warranty should put to rest any worries about quality. :)

No Freeview hd tuner on this .. D'oh

not voted but my son got bought a Luxor 1080p TV for Christmas last year from grandparents. the picture is absolutely shocking. if your going to buy make sure you see it first.

You get what you pay for, especially with electrical goods.

Better than the ASDA Polaroid ones everyone were going mad for + 5 year guarantee.
#29
Also got this in the Black Friday deal. The 5 year guarantee sold it for me. The out of the box picture settings aren't perfect, but after spending some time tinkering with it, it looks great. Heat from me.

Where's the made rush and people fighting over this in store? Oh wait... not a stupid 'sales' day that was a disgrace to witness.

It's great value, I'm looking for one with 3 HDMI (I know I can get an adapter but don't think I should have to, my 6 year old LCD has 3 for crap sake).

No, but just like a toaster, it has no need for it.
