can get a humax for the same price albeit 160gb

Surely no-one has more than 160 hours of TV stockpiled anyway.

Humax works great, these cheapo ones fail big time on functionality

Have you got a link for theHumax?
Cheers.

Just got a Humax. Its biggest problem so far is the epg and menus. Awful compared to my old vestel based box.

The EPG on my Humax 9150T can be slow to populate and not enough channels & time span shown on screen at same time, but operation is fantastic. Favourite feature is automatic suggestion of alternative recording schedule if you try to record three channels at same time. Was lucky enough to get refurb deal from Tesco for £70

Check what firmware (system settings) you are on as a 2010 update changed it so EPG is stored in memory when turned to standby. Also, fan noise was reduced by 99%.

I think it's an example of what you're used to. With the Vestel I get 11 channels vertically and 4 hours per page, the Library shows you how much time the current recordings have taken up, how much the timers set will take and how much is free. It's really good. The Humax is good but the menus are like masssive Duplo bricks that limit the amount of information you can get at once. Unless you've seen the other side it's hard to describe how good the Vestel menus are.
