He did 'escape' there, but what's the betting that was on a short term basis and he ends up moving to London to live out the rest of his life in supreme luxury on the proceeds of his ill-gotten gains.

I think Saudi Arabia is more likely, unless they topple aswell :0 We and the Americans tend to be fair weather allies, who will prop up/support such figures while they are doing our bidding and then try to take the moral high ground later :(

There are only two types of dictators we don't like, those that refuse to do what we want and those who no longer can.

P.S. I wonder if he's staying on an all inclusive deal :D

His ill gotten gains? hes been president for 30 years not an evil dictator !"! and yes rightly so he has enough money to live in any city in the world he desires. which wont be too long hes in his 80s now.

So is there no way to book online. I usually find the ones where you have to phone end up increasing the price or saying the holiday has gone and trying to sell something completely different.

Stopped at this hotel when I went a couple years ago. Paid about £800 for me and the missus.
Breakfast is good but evening meals are boring.
Nice hotel over all and only 10 mins taxi from all the main towns.

Oh but the pool is freezing!!
#23
Oh ye and people worrying about the trouble in egypt then sharm will not be effected as even egyptians who live outside of sharm require a visa to go there.
#24
Cairo was dodgy a couple of years ago when I went there, this was just waiting to happen. We had the taxi hijacked, and got stuck in a major street brawl, not to mention other things going on round us, we summed it up as dog eats dog society out there. Having said that, we found places like El Gouna and Taba fantastic...
#25
I stayed here last year too... its okay but food bit naff...!! good deal though.
Stay away from the 'Egyptian' massage........more a sexual assualt... (seriously)
#26
do we actually need a visa to visit sharm if only staying for 7 days...we have no intention of leaving the area

Might be early enough to spy the rockets going over the Suez from the plane.

You need a visa which you buy in US Dollars when you land.

You also need jumpers because from 4-5pm it goes freezing.
#29
You only need a visa if you are travelling out of the Sinai region. The only place in Sharm where you need a visa is Ras Mohammed

Great deal and I wouldn't think twice about visiting Sharm at the moment. The sharks should have migrated and the protests have ended :p

Extras - Baggage

I love how they can call a baggage an 'extra'. Can anybody really squeeze a week's worth of clothes and other holiday essentials into a 5kg item of hand luggage?

Not only that, but the 5* rating is a little misleading, making this deal appear better than it is. The hotel is officially a 4*, so good, but not fantastic!

You play too much CoD.

Just to make you all aware that if you do book this and decide not to go because of what is happening in Egypt or if you cancel your holiday and come back home then your travel insurers wont cover it as the FCO must advise against ALL travel, not just all but essential travel.
#33
sharm is boring, the best bit of going to sharm was the excursion to cairo

Wrong, if your going to sharm and dont plan to leave the resort then you do not need a visa.
Personally I hate sharm and would never ever go there but this is a hot deal all the same.
