These are never worth £3.99 per 144g.

£1 per 100g is normal price, the discount only brings them inline with that.

Sort of! This works out about £9.62 a kilo, e.g. Tesco will end up about £10 a kg

Lidl still better when available but only jist

Be careful when buying "fresh" prawns.

Quite often they have been frozen previously therefore you can't freeze them yourself unless you want a dodgy tummy.

Konky.....if they have been frozen in a controlled manner should be OK.....check all the supermarkets for their raw or cooked prawns in the chiller cabinets - they are still frozen.....i did query this with the section manager at the time....but like you am i convinced especially as tesco was trying to pass off Flank beef as top rump until Watchdog got involved!

If they have been frozen previously the labelling tells you not to refreeze, just that people don't usually check before buying them. No way would I freeze, defrost and refreeze shellfish.

They are cleaned and frozen on the boat and in theory they should be kept frozen until you buy them from the supermarket.
Needless to say I have seen pallets of these left in the summer sunshinewaiting to be stored in the warehouse.

WTF! - 144g!

Soon we'll be paying them for fresh air if they keep reducing portion sizes. Surely they dont think the public are so dense as not to notice whats been happening.

Put price up for a week then reduce portion size and then put on BOGOF. Then put back up to high price whilst maintaining smaller size.

Morrisons are **** me off these days, buy one get two free, but the one you buy will be at least as expensive as buying two normally. So technically, it's buy two get one free - which is worse than BOGOF!

Sod off Morrisons!
