Some TV's, well most now can input at 1080p. So your PS3 will output at 1080p to the TV and the TV will read it as a 1080p input and that's why it displays as 1080p when you look at the info. What is happening is that 1080p signal is getting downscaled to 768p. You don't have a 1080p TV.
Even the manual you linked to all though a different model to the one we are talking about, you said it was 1080p and it most certainly isn't either.
Order stated 2 week delivery on initial paperwork and at end when payment processed stated 7 weeks, I rang up coupe of days later to query as nobody had responded to my email only to be told that we cannot fulfill order due to stock levels and no clarification on the money I have paid.
Rated M&S as safe option like John Lewis but will never use Markies again.
Wondering what would have happened after 7 weeks still waiting would I then have to contact them only to find out there was no stock !
Be warned !
pointless using it as a monitor as the image would be fairly low res and pixelate badly - id rather buy a 24in 1080p monitor or a 2560 if you stretch the extra cash
Sinking in yet?
Perhaps if you focus your laser like brain on providing us dullards with a rationale to support your opinion, people might listen to you. You never know, we might even learn something. The way you express yourself says a lot more about you than it does about 3D televisions.
I thought about putting a polite comment on as Dooper does every time these cello "deals" are posted, its a well written, honest opinion based on his years of experience. Then 2 or 3 comments later "Great deal" , " Ordered" , this was my fav :"i bought a cello in december and although the sound is tinny and the picture isn't the best it is still a bargain".
There s plenty more of the same on the web.
Hey its a free country and if people want to buy a 32" 3D 1080p (we think) TV for £199 that s fine, a deal, i m not so sure, i think your getting a TV worth exactly £199.
Perhaps you can tell from my hand writing or even my tea leaves what sort of person i am too!
I think you may have mistaken "years of experience" for "cribbing out of 'Which?' magazine and posting opinions on TVs he's never actually seen". I stopped paying any attention when he completely ignored a whole host of positive Amazon reviews in favour of one magazine review, from a self-appointed 'expert' - he argued that the people who actually owned and used the set were unqualified to decide what they should, and should not like - which is a breath-takingly arrogant position to adopt.
For what it's worth, I got the last full-HD Cello TV, which is used on a media centre PC. The sound is bobbins, but I knew that before I bought, and remedied it with powered speakers. The picture is fine, nothing wrong with it whatsoever - it's better than some monitors which have cost me significantly more. All in all, 200 quid well-spent, despite the droning instance that I should only buy Toshibas, or whatever. I'd not hesitate to buy another.
And yes, I can tell what kind of person you are from your writing.
I don't visit this site as much as I used to so I don't know who this Dooper guy is but I am happy for him to get the credit for the quote (which isn't cribbed from Which? magazine).
What I will say though is that Cello have improved their LCDs significantly in the past year and although their 3D isn't anywhere near as good as higher end brands they are definitely worth £199. Sound quality still isn't great but the picture quality is much better since that review.
I would be more than happy to have one of these ( in my bedroom !), I just wouldn't buy it if I really wanted a 3D telly though.
Hope this helps some people...again. :D
Lad, from reading the last page of the link/manual you posted it does say that it supports 1080p input. I am pretty sure that doesn’t equate to displaying 1080p though. I think it has been pointed out that it is indeed 720p
Thanks
Was playing around with the 2D -> 3D conversion and it's not half bad.
