Thank you for sharing your post with everyone else, but IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO SHOUT?

Maybe you've got some gunge stuck under your shift key...

Thanks for the tip-off

Thanks for the heads up on this, heat added....

but I really don't get this 'taking the credit' for deals that people moan about as if it actually makes someone's life richer and more fulfilled. It's meaningless. Just my opinion of course.

Cheers for the heads up.

Excellent-will certainly have a look, thanks for sharing, heat added.

How do you know it is a good sale when you don't know what is in it?

There is no deal here, it is information only, so should be in miscellaneous.

Is it likely that this will include furniture? There's a desk I've been wanting for ages but its £800 which is a bit over budget.

I have to admit that it is a little more difficult to read text that is all capitalised, but what really pi**es me off is when people say "Don't shout!"

As if anyone reading it back shouts in their minds when they read it... Shop Signs indicating a SALE, are generally all capital letters, yet no one complains about this. Please, get a grip.

That's right, the keyword SALE is in capital letters. Usually it is the only word on the shop signs, so it looks fine capitalised. Even when in a paragraph of text, writing a single important word or phrase in capitals makes it stand out amongst the rest of the text. Writing everything in capitals ensures nothing stands out.

You seem to be missing my point...

My point was why do people complain that someone is shouting when no one reads it like that unless you live in a box and aren't let out often? It's petty, some people capitalise everything to emphasize the lot, and although I find it a little harder to read, each to their own.

The best deals on furniture are in store, at the end of sale. Sometimes you don't get lucky but you have to chance it. 20% off is no good to me but 50% is great and could be a deal clincher.

You are never going to get one or two piece deals online.

OMG I am salavating already at the thought of this ! Roll on next week!!

Speak up....I SAID SPEAK UP

I CAN'T HEAR YOU :whistling:

I COULD ONLY UNDERSTAND THE FIRST POST, IT ALL WENT QUIET AFTER THAT

Prose that is all capitalized slows reading speed down by up to about 15% and requires more attention. It is inconsiderate.

Capitalized text is generally interpreted as shouting, and individual views does not change this interpretation. Of course 'shouting' isn't actually occurring, but referring to it as shouting is generally shorthand for my first paragraph (even if they don't know the 15% figure).

And... good sale! I'll have to check tomorrow.

Wake me up on the 7th when we can tell if there is anything in the sale actually worth buying, as I seem to remember that the summer sale was pants.
#23
Ta. I've set a reminder for one minute past midnight on next Thursday. At this point, I will begin scouring the M&S website and posting deals at breakneck speed, garnering reputation.

The joy I shall feel will be incomparable, and surely eclipse any annoyance you might feel as a result of this.

thank u

cant wait...theres a few things i have my eye on :roll:
#32
The shouting didn't bother me either

Thanks OP!

I have other things in my life to worry about than to worry about someone posting in capitals.
#33
Sale notification with no details of offers on the 1st with sale on the 8th?

Not a deal therefore cold for me

offline??
#34
Remember that as this sale starts on 8th October, you can return any items you purchased in the 35 days before 8th October for a full price refund and then repurchase them at the new lower price. IN fact, you can actually do this in store with the same garment at Customer Services !

Sort of a quasi M&S arbitrage !

OP has started another thread saying the date has changed. It shows why rumours of sales should not be posted in deals. Still no deals have been mentioned, and the date was not even confirmed.
