The deal is for today only - you need to actually add it to you basket and go to checkout where the reduced price will show (on the linked page, you will see £999, but scroll down slightly where the offer is listed).

No retailers bar m&s have sold thus for £999, so wouldn't take much notice on how much they've dropped it.

Although at this price with 5 year warranty it is a steal...have some heat!

nice price but not as good as last week post http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/644185/sony-bravia-40-kdl-40w5810-1080p-44. I would wait a bit cos new range of sony's lcd tv is just behind the corner so they will try to get rid of the old models.

Not a bad price. For £50 more you can have the KDL-40V5810U which includes Freesat and gives you access to BBC iplayer also!

@GB credit crunch: The new Sony Bravia range has already started appearing so expect most retailers to be clearing out 2009 models over the next few weeks to makes space for the 2010 models in advance of the World Cup.

Will there not always be a new range coming out. £525 including quidco is pretty cheep. Or the Z4500 http://www.hotukdeals.com/item/647049/sony-bravia-40-kdl-40z4500-200hz-69 is quite good too for £665 including quidco.

That was a misprice and only a few people got it, so dont count on another model like that from M&S again at that price. Its was reduced by £350 to £800, however £350 was also being taken off at the checkout making if £450.

decent , however you may be able to locate these in Curry's and Pc World for £499.97 as it is an old model
#13
great price, now the only missing features i'd like are FULL LED and 100/200Hz.

I love all the terrible posts you keep making, clearly showing a lack of any understanding and total ignorance. As stated above lcd IS led, simply a different type of backlighting. The day LCDs die LEDs will also not exist since they are one and the same.

And the difference between an LED torch and a normal torch isn't really in the brightness it is more in the battery life ie power consumption, with LED lcd televisions this is the same. They simply use less power the picture ( for now , until we get LED backlit with local dimming rather than sidelit ) is the same.

It wasnt a misprice, they were just clearing them. I ordered on the Saturday and people still bagged them on the following wednesday...... impossible for a misprice which would have been corrected monday morning along with "we're sorry but..." emails

from what you posted earlier and got all the hate for it.. LOL @ a nice way of backing yourself up and adding a nice touch to the end of your comment.. the whistling:whistling:... as though you know what you were talking about.. hmmm..

Here's a bit of information I think you should read before commenting on something you clearly dont know about.. hence when stating "LCD will soon be old technology - AVOID" and showing the lack of knowledge you have..

LED TVs are technically a member of the LCD TV family. The display screen on a LED is a liquid crystal display the same as it is on any other LCD TV. The main difference between the two lies with different backlighting techniques which may change the picture quality characteristics dramatically.

Traditional LCDs have used some form of flourescent lighting from tubes to much more advanced flat arrays of lights. LED TVs use Light Emitting Diodes to light the LCD panel. Just as there are different styles of flourescent lights in traditional LCDs there are also different styles of LED backlighting. There are LED TVs like the Sony KDL-55XBR8 that have a panel of LED lights behind the LCD panel. In the Sony the LEDs are tri-colored and can be controlled in banks for an effect called "local dimming".

This allows darker areas of the picture to have the backlighting dimmed behind them resulting in better contrast and black levels. In the Luxia line of Samsung LED TVs, the LED lights are surrounding the edge of the panel and this arrangement allows for the very slim depth of those models. Without the ability to do local dimming these are functionally similar to traditional LCDs.

Thank you.. goodbye.. much love.. ::p:

Slimmer = worse sound quality

Picture quality = better in some ways worse in others

Best way not to make an a$$ out of yourself is to KNOW what you are talking about instead of showing how gullible you are to sales pitch crap :whistling::whistling::whistling:
