So apart from being on telly - has anyone ever got this thing to work?
Stainless steel is a terrible conductor of heat - almost any other metal would have been a better choice, so I'm skeptical, unless someone has first hand experience.

erm, the heat in the oven cooks the pizza not the tray you put underneath it. Therefore the comment about stainless steel being a poor conductor of heat is irrelevant, esp as you havent even tried it!

sigh! that's why I want to know if it#'s any good. One review, on it's own is not helpful. BTW, I said stainless was a terrible conductor of heat, not a poor one. And yes, the conductivity does matter - that's what gets the heat (from the air in the oven) to the centre of the pizza.

Thats not how this works, or is meant to work... it raises the center of the pizza so it cooks better by having a hot air gap under and higher in the over so it is slightly hotter... its to stop a "soggy middle".

So it being a terrible conductor of heat is the eact reason it was chosen as the material to use.

of course one could just diy and find something in the kitchen drawer that would do the same thing.
