Oh please. These things are bad enough on a calm summers evening. You are not seriously suggesting people launch them in the UK in DECEMBER are you?

Just imagine the joy in everyones' faces as a burning mass of fuel and paper gets blown straight into the side of a house/tree/car/person. All we can hope is the rain will put out the fires before they take hold.

Obviously common sense would prevail when to use these ?

Launched about 30 of these on my wedding day not long ago, they were fantastic. But as mentioned totally weather dependant. Wouldnt work on a blustery day.

But saying that its not like they wont keep.

99p each is a bargain. They are great fun for everyone, much bigger than i expected, like small hot air balloons.

Hope they are presents and not intended to be used this time of year.

I lit one recently on a night I thought it would be safe and the thing flew over the roof of the house and made a beeline for a neighbours guttering. Never again will I use them within reach of flying distance to any property unless in a farmers field, and then I would probably still be concerned if the 'litter police' catch up with me and hand me an £80 fine.

Mine were supposed to be flame retardant, but they weren't....well I guess they were until the fuel was lit.

Great price and find though, I just don't wish to claim on my insurance for 2 minutes of panic

Suppose they were presents, what difference would that be.
