I just got a new torch from DX and checked it out last night and it was great. Really cheap but OMG what amount of light came out of this little torch I was very impressed.

I would say that it would give this little torch "mentioned above" a good run for its money.:-D

Voted hot BTW

Hot....
Maglite are high quality torches and probably one of the brightest non LED torches you can get.
The price has been coming down on these lately because everyone wants LED now.

Led is the way to go. Nice to see photo on which batteries fit (i.e. not the rechargeable AAs).

Can anyone answer for me please?
..Is it the light and build quality of Maglite that make them so highly recommended?

All the Maglites are equally well made, but the LED ones give a far superior battery lifer for the same light output.

I've been looking for a LED Maglite, anyone know of any at a good price?
#15
Great Offer but even cheaper at Screwfix:santa:

Surprisingly, there has been some really bad reviews for the LED Maglites.... poor build quality with Maglites just stopping working.
Maybe Maglite are being overtaken in quality torches by makes like Lenser etc.

£16.99 from TK Maxx. They mainly have the bright blue and red bodies, but there are one or two metallic grey coloured ones left. Stock is erratic. Some stores have none left, others have loads in stock.
