nice blunt tool, but the light output of these (without a costly LED makeover is frankly ridiculous) :(

Invest in either this & factor in an upgrade, or buy a decent LED torch from the outset, maglite used to be a player but rested on their laurels & lost their lead.
(you'd look a bit daft giving this to anyone who owns even one led torch imho), & this is what i'd expect to pay at the max price for this old technology.

yep, personally I wouldn't buy any torch now with a filament bulb, the LED alternatives are generally much better. You can get a better torch, cheaper, but if you have to have a maglite then it's not a bad price

True, led torches make much more sense as inly light energy is produced, not heat. I would refrain from using a none led as a light, unless i am using it as a heater.

Led lenser is the way to go now, smaller, lighter, the batteries last longer and the light output is amazing. I've got one of the smallest lenders that works on 3 watch batteries and is the size of 2 cigarette filters and that is brighter than my 2xD maglite. Buy one as a club but not as a torch.

Can't you afford one for yourself?

You can buy the LED conversion for these but they are almost as much as the original torch which is pretty stupid.
Maglite missed a valuable marketing opportunity to offer a free retrofit for their loyal customers imo

Nostalgic voting?

The one I posted from Costco shows how far torch tech has moved on from the old maglite days.

For an extra £2 you get one of the brightest torches available (without looking at really expensive ones), batteries included, and it's even a better club being 3 D cells.

dont get me wrong, like my led lenser and fenix torches, but still like the old maglites, they simply work. they will outlast any led torch

Did you read the post?

£15.58 is the instore price, I posted the deal as an instore deal.
Apparently £23 is the online price - but I've never checked.
